Some players always report fit, whether they are or not, but no matter which way Leigh Griffiths views his calf strain from last night, it is likely that Brendan Rodgers will rest the player for Friday’s Premiership game at Hamilton.
With six Celts playing both recent Scotland games, and others performing elsewhere across the Continent, Brendan will surely take advantage of one of the benefits of having a strong squad in a weaker league and rest some limbs.
Patrick Roberts must be itching to get back into competitive action, while Calvin Miller could comfortably deputise for Kieran Tierney, who has already played a lot of football this season. I’d have Cristian Gamboa at right back.
One player who is likely to be rested for Friday is Tom Rogic, who played in Japan last week and is currently halfway through Australia’s home World Cup qualifier against Thailand.
19-year-old Odsonne Edouard will not have met many of this team-mates yet, so you could understand if Brendan Rodgers was cautious about starting him on Friday, but it could also be the perfect opportunity for the player to make a memorable impact.
Who knows, maybe we’ll see Eboue Kouassi pick up the reins in central mid?

Noticed last night on the livefootballontv page, next week’s Youth League game v PSG is listed on BT Sport1 for 5pm. Son has claimed my seat at Celtic Park that night so it’s a bus ride to Dumbarton for me.
Who remembers the CFC stickers around the city seasons ago with a black x through the PSG badge? CFC stood as Capital Football Club. What was their purpose?

Can someone please enlighten me ?
In the last couple of days, I think it was Phil Macs Blog ?…apparently the Huns need £4 million in their accounts on Friday to just operate thru until February 2018 ?
IF ….that is true, and they are once again relying on “soft loans” from directors, what happens IF they DON’T get anywhere near the £4 million ?
i keep reading how much trouble they are in, and yet they still stumble on month after month, why is that being allowed to happen IF they are in that much trouble ?
I am confused.com ?

Thanks for posting that track. Hadn’t heard it, and it’ll need a few listenings, I’d think!
Of all places, I was introduced to Can while working during the summer in the late ’70s as a ‘nipper’ at the council workshop in Easterhouse. Another student, who had a job as a timekeeper, gave me ‘Tago Mago’ and ‘Soon Over Babaluma’. This was all just as Punk was about to blast upon the music scene, and I was pretty clear about what I preferred, much to his displeasure!
I have to say, the men I met there as a naive 17 year old student were a great group of guys. Very mild ribbing when they could have gone to town, and, when they heard I had no direct bus service home, made sure I got a lift, either to my town or at least a bus stop where one bus would do.
Great wee job, too. Apart from the ‘keep the change’ when being dispatched for fags, rolls, papers etc, I had to take deliveries into the City Chambers most days, being told ‘no rush’, as long as they’d all had their tea first, of course!
Just a wee shout out that I’m meeting PF Ayr in Kelso on October 28th for the races.
5 of us confirmed and digs and race tickets booked.
Anyone interested more than welcome to join us.
VFR.
A welcome return, you have been missed.
I hope the move will have been worth it in the long term.

I’ll be on a train North at the time. Get him telt to make sure The Market has an extra order of Guinness for the Bayern game in midweek.
And make sure he takes his better half to the meet-she’s a wiz at the winners, much to his annoyance!
PS-and have fun!!!

” keep the change”
Mixed memories.
When I flogged the pink paper roon the pubs on a sat night, if the price was say 9d excellent. Most of the punters gave me a shilling and said keep the change.
Howevah, if the price went to 11d, I’d still just get the shilling, therefore ma tips were slashed!
Felt so sorry for Martin O’Neill last night. The commentators are probably worse than the English in the way they treat their managers. Poor Martin has very few star players to work with and is in a very tough group.
Very loathe to criticise MON,he is up there as a Great Celt for me,but after watching Republic’s last 2 games, his style of football hasn’t moved on,very little variation of play,or tactics.
BEATBHOY
I only remember that from a party in London, early 90s. In my bombed-out state,it sounded bloody marvellous.
Straight down to Beanos the following weekend,no luck, but the fella at the counter said he had a copy and would tape it for me.
Nearest I got to owning it,brilliant chill-out stuff. If I can find the tape,I might take it to the hootenanny for DELANEYSDUNKY and OLDTIM67.

:-))
His better half – G-. Poor lady must’ve driven 15 miles trying to get me back to my hotel one night. I told her several times just to let me off and I’d find it but no, she insisted on getting me back safe.
Lovely lady. ( unlike that big eejit:-))
I can say that cos he doesn’t come on here now:-)

Welcome back. I was just wondering a few nights ago where you had got to.
Are you still in Dennistoun? I need some local info.

Careful,big fella.
He lurks.
Ireland were diabolical on Saturday and MON’s after match interview was no better.
Ireland competed last night but Serbia were the better team.
If we don’t qualify, it will be primarily down to Saturday’s performance.
On a happier note, I’m glad to announce that I’ve been promised a ticket for the All Ireland football final.
My two sons living here are still looking for tickets, if anyone can help.

M O’N has a very limited bunch to work with and whilst Michael O’Neill has done very well, I think his squad is slightly better and his group a lot easier.
Twists N Turns
Yes, returns varied, as most of the men ordered virtually the same every day, handing over the same amount of cash. But, if they missed an item like a paper off their order, they still insisted on the ‘keep the change’ rule. I think some of them had probably started off as the ‘nipper’, and knew the wages!

I don’t disagree too much, though player for player better than Norn Iron IMO,I just don’t think his style of play worries too many opposition teams any more, very predictable.HH

Sure they’ll enjoy it!
By the way, Can was Sunday morning listening for the guy I mentioned. His Friiday night/Saturday stuff was Magma. A step too far for me!
