KIERAN TIERNEY has revealed the quietest man in the Celtic dressing room after the rousing 3-2 triumph at Ibrox was goal hero Odsonne Edouard.
The French ace came off the substitute’s bench to launch the winner behind Wes Foderingham to give 10-man Hoops a well-fought win.
Brendan Rodgers’ side twice came from behind and played for more than half-an-hour with a player short following Jozo Simunovic’s red card, but they still did enough to extend their advantage at the of the Premiership to nine points with a game in hand.
As the Parkhead players celebrated a result that means they have gone nine successive games unbeaten against the Govan outfit and have enjoyed four wins on the bounce at Ibrox, international left-back Tierney admitted on-loan Edouard was the calmest man in the place.
KT said: “What a goal it was. He came into the dressing room after the game when everyone was buzzing and he was still his usual quiet self.
“I am sure he was thrilled with it, but he is a big calm lad and he just came strolling into the dressing room after the game.
“We were delighted for him. It was a really brilliant finish – and a really great pass from Moussa Dembele to put him through.
“I think the goal just underlined our belief. Even when we went to 10 men we wanted to win it. We knew we needed everyone to fight for every ball, but we still had that drive and confidence to go and get the goal.
“The quality in the goal just showed what we have got.”
The Hoops defender added: “We always believe in ourselves. The manager has made it clear to us what we do in any game what happens if we go down to 10 men or if the opposition go down to 10 men.
“It’s about being able to adapt to different situations when you are under pressure.
“We didn’t just play for 10 minutes at the end of the game with a man down, we played for more than half-an-hour which is a long time to be a man down in a big pressured match.
“The last-ditch defending was tremendous and there wasn’t a guy in our team who didn’t put everything on the line to make sure that we got what we wanted.
“Every single player gave everything they had and that is what you need to do. You see the unity we have in the team and that is important.”
KT added: “I haven’t had a chance to see the incident with Jozo, but he will have been upset to go off.
“From our point of view, it was about digging in to make sure we got the win for him, as well. He was buzzing after it because it doesn’t matter how you win the game, just that you go out and win it.
“I think we showed so much character to come back twice from a goal down and to then go on and win the game. There was a lot of pressure on us, but I think we did well to keep our focus and make sure we just went out and did our job.
“It was the same when we lost that opening goal so early on in the game. It was disappointing, but I think the main thing was that we knew we had to stay calm.
“It can happen, but we knew that we had to stick to our game plan and carry on.
“Everybody in the team, the manager and the coaches have to take huge amounts of credit for it because we all worked our socks off to get that win.”
