LOUIS MOULT, Motherwell’s two-goal hero against Sevco Rangers, reckons he can shoot down Celtic in the Betfred League Cup Final on November 26.
The striker, who has netted 11 this season, insists the Fir Park side will overcome all the odds and beat Brendan Rodgers’ men at Hampden.
Moult said: “Of course, we can beat Celtic. We beat them two seasons ago and I scored two at their place.
“We’ve got belief. Yes they’re a different side now with a different manager.
“But so are we. We go on the park convinced we’re going to win and I believe the people beside me all think the same.”
Moult was involved in a late flashpoint after he exchanged kicks with Bruno Alves and was booked while the Portuguese defender escaped completely.
The Well frontman said: “I spoke to Alves about our incident and told him he kicked out at me. He agreed.
“I don’t know what I did, whether I touched him or not. I said it was probably a yellow card for him and me and he agreed.
“I lost my head a bit when I got cut earlier on, but managed to keep a calm head after that.
“I was more angry the ref didn’t stop the game because it was a head injury. He apologised and that’s fair enough.
“I don’t know if it was a deliberate elbow. But Ryan Bowman was booked early on for something fairly similar.”
Celtic will now play Motherwell three times in a week as a result of the sides winning their Betfred Cup semi finals at the weekend.
Celtic were scheduled to play Motherwell on Saturday at Fir Park but this was postponed due to the semi-finals. H
The Betfred Cup Final will take place on Sunday 25th November before Celtic travel to Fir Park to play Saturday’s re-arranged SPFL match on Wednesday 29th November which has a 7.45pm kick-off.
And Motherwell are the visitors to Paradise on Saturday 2nd December.
