Although Rangers won their case at the Court of Session today, they have the option not to serve the ruling on the SFA that its Judicial Panel’s 12 month ban on player registration is illegal. Winning the point in law might sound like a victory, but taking the Association to court breaks membership rules of the SFA, rules imposed on all associations by Fifa.
We will find out soon enough the reach of SFA president, Campbell Ogilvie, who was one of the recipients of an EBT which precipitated Rangers crisis.
Rangers are deep in Sion territory now. Either they walk away from this showdown, the SFA expel or suspend them from football, or Fifa will shortly remind the SFA of their duties when a member club takes action in the civil courts.
Campbell Ogilvie was born for this moment; it justifies him holding onto his position all these months despite being “heavily conflicted”, according to his chief executive. I do not expect this to end well.
Despite an independent judicial panel ruling against Rangers, there is no way the office holders at the SFA will expel Rangers, no matter what they do. They would rather jeopardise the Scotland national team and every other club’s European participation.

Maybe a possible solution is at hand.
‘In the Swiss village of Reconvilier, two things are certain; death and taxes—
especially if you are a dog. Citing a law dating back to 1904 town leaders are telling dog guardians that if they do not pay their annual animal taxes, officials may kill their pets..’
Could perchance the HMRC could adopt a similar policy in Scotland?
“Pay your taxes…or the dog gets it!”
Celticmac,
you cannae seriously be suggesting the taxman shoots their wives

a ban from the SFA cup
same same
boring !
oh
and FIFA wont do anything either !
not a chance
Where has this ban them from the SC sanction came from ,I thought that was one of the charges they were up for but it was not proven .
I think it was for not paying D Utd for the tie at Ibrokes ,I must say I was bemused as to how this was not proven ,either they paid them or they didn’t .
Something stinks to me and it’s stronger that the usual stench

The penny drops on the stupid Huns…
Duff & Phelps, the administrators of
Rangers Football Club, issued the
following statement today.
Paul Clark, Joint Administrator said: “We
welcome the decision by Judge Lord Glennie
today that vindicates the Club’s position that
the original SFA judicial panel tribunal and
the appellate tribunal acted beyond their
powers in imposing a transfer embargo on
the Club.
“The costs for this legal action have been
awarded against the SFA and it is our
position it is very regrettable that court
action was required.
“Both we, and the SFA, will have to study the
full ramifications of the judgment when it is
published and either side has 21 days in
which to decide the next course of action or
whether they wish to appeal.”
How can the hun’s survive this? There are just too many obstacles to overcome. Reason tells me they can’t. Yet the SFA don’t do reason, do they. The SFA are stuck between a rock and a hard place: Celtic on one side and the huns on the other. But the advantage with sticking with us is they save Scottish football. Surely common sense, reason and self-preservation will prevail? I am certain the huns are doomed…it was they who opened the vault to oblivion by choosing the route they did.
Even so, isn’t it incredible the level of intimidation they can generate in this country’s authorities? There is also a kind of diabolical awe in the sheer ‘off the scale’ hubris of the hordes; all you hear is: “The SFA will do sweet feck all…cause they know we ur the peepul…they would never dare.” The magnitude of that crass arrogance is truly staggering- the misguided dysgenic certainty leaves you stunned and dumbstruck in the shadow of its monstrous wake. If a nations moral state is reflected in the quality of its leaders then we are teetering towards a craven society.
And there was me thinking the appeal was tomorrow.
Don’t know what to think for now. Will we really allow Doncaster and Regan to allow Scotland to be kicked out of international football?
Bhoys and Ghirls It is my considered opinion the FIFA will do nothing as the SFA / SPL will ban RFC (IA) from the Scots cup for an indeterminate number of seasons thereby meeting the criteria for chastising miscreant clubs as laid down by SFA / SPL regulations.
I believe we were hoping for UEFA intervention but absolutely nothing has been forthcoming from them. Now given the Sion case they were all over them and the Swiss FA like a bad case of scabies. What has been their reticence in becoming involved to date and why do we really expect action from both the sports European and world governing bodies when they have been thus far conspicuous in their absence?
Quelle surprise!!!
This is Scotland eh…….
And well, ’twas ever thus……

Time to leave Celtic, leave them all to it, the whole bloody lot of them.
Scunnered.
My god all the excitement in here for nowt.
Nobody needs to do anything until RFC sign a player.
This action is only to help Green with ST sales.
Flailing the dead horse again.

Mon the Fifa
“At the
time of writing we have not received any
communication from the Scottish FA.
“In such a case, FIFA will ask the
Member Association to take action so
that the club withdraws its request
from the ordinary courts.
“As a general rule, in case a club is
seeking redress in front of ordinary
court, as mentioned above the Member
Association shall take direct action in
order to safeguard the principle laid
down in art. 64 par. 2 of FIFA Statutes,
which shall be, in view of art. 64 par. 3
incorporated in the Member
Associations’ Statutes.
“FIFA will closely monitor the situation
so that the issue is resolved as fast as
possible.”
Rangers’ case will now be referred back
to the original appeal tribunal, which
has been ordered to operate within the
framework which exists.
Rule 66 allows for a maximum fine of
£100,000 to be imposed, as well as
ejection from the Scottish Cup, a
suspension, expulsion from
participation in the game and/or
termination of SFA membership.
Paul – Ogilvie will not have to do anything, zip, nada.
Everything the SFA/SPL have done has been about preserving the Huns in the SPL.
UEFA/FIFA will do NOTHING either.
Expect the Huns to be in the SPL next season (along with us because ee have nowhere to go) with minimal sanctions and the absence of a transfer ban suggests to me they can be competitive with Bosmans.
If they can get away with a crime just short of match fixing you’d be as well allowing them to out with knives.
MadraRua, old habits.
gordybhoy64, I expect Ogilvie will do everything in his power to prevent Rangers being expelled.
ASonOfDan, I hear you.
merseycelt, another time.

Kojo, they sure will.

This is what will happen –
This is a green day for Scottish football and for Celtic.
What happens now:
SFA cannot accept Court of Session decision, its outwith the Associations rules.
FIFA cannot sit on their hands. The decision is outwith their rules.
Rangers wont emerge as new company, wont be playing in SPL, and have no mey for transfers anyway.
Celtic have no need to ago anywhere. At the moment.
We are free of them, we are not a second class, I nor any fans I know are second class .
Why does everyone fret and fear , rather than read and think of what the obvious outcomes are going to be.
They are a deid Blue loyal parrot.
In 1981, Lord Glennie married Patricia Jean Phelan, daughter of Andrew Phelan, a circuit judge originally from Clonmel in the Republic of Ireland.
Who said never interrupt your enemy when he is making mistakes?
FIFA/UEFA will definitely act on this, otherwise it will have colossal impact on how they carry out business. This is not just about the huns v SFA it’s about the huns v the European/World establishment. More from the unseen fenian hand to come methinks.
Hail! Hail! PMTYH
What are the potential FIFA sanctions for taking a decision to a civil court?
anyone
Breaking news:
“Ally McCoist wants to know the names of the people at FIFA who are asking Campbell’s SFA to take action against the Gers, the Bears, the Teddy Bears!”
there is a creek, within that creek there is a boat, a manky boat, a boat that has’nt paid it’s due’s for too long.
it has no paddle and a rubber at the helm.
unfortunately for the the rest of the flottila who have paid there way in life we are tethered to this carbuncle, along with the sfa and national team.
if these pondlife drifters continue to ignore the ruling of the land, the big boys who own the the creek will scuttle said manky boat and they will sink us all with them.
no champions league (are you watching murderwell)
no europa cup ( hun sympathisers take note)
no world cup (tartan army no more)
no friendlies (tartan army no more)
these parasitic lowlife WILL take us all down, they care not a jot for scottish football, they care not a jot for ANY football fan in scotland
they have NO BALLS
they have NO SPINE
they have NO DIGNITY
if the footballing powers that be in this little country of ours cant see the writing on the wall then we may aswell tender our resignation NOW, uefa and fifa dont take too kindly to governments and courts interfering in their business (just ask NIGERIA how many games they have played on the international scene lately)
unless someone at the sfa has the balls and bottle to throw these cheating sh*tebags on the heap then we are f*cked
AND MORE TO THE POINT, IF EVERY DECENT LAW ABIDING TAX PAYING FOOTBALL FAN IN SCOTLAND DOSE’NT TURN ON DER HUN IF THEY DO SURVIVE (funny hand shakes go far you know) THEN THE WHOLE INTEGRITY OF OUR GAME IN SCOTLAND MAY ASWELL CURLE UP AND DIE !!!

After watching Scotland against the USA would the Scottish international team being kicked out of football be such a bad thing :-)
euros top goalscorer
giroud, france
50/1
just finished top in the league
I thought it was established yesterday that quite bizarrely RFC(IA) didn’t need an SFA license to play in the SPL – just audited accounts – if they are suspended from the SFA what difference does it make ?
Y’know what. I usually hate closed season. Scrabbling around for scraps of information on who might sign and who might leave. Not this year! No siree bob. It’s a laugh a minute and constant browser refresh nirvana. Thank the ghods celtic aren’t playing at the moment because it would be like handing me the Sunday paper and having to choose between the cartoons page or the sports page to reread the match report of the game I just watched. Don’t get me wrong the sports page wins hands down but I hate myself for thinking about the cartoons page on the same level. Must be that old catholic guilt.
All we have to do is …………………..WIN, simple really, down to you Neil, no pressure mind

the scottish national team would’nt be so bad if the noob running them could pick a decent side and had a fraction of tactical nous
we have good players, skillful players but lump it levein is a clueless twat.
hh
my hope is that UEFA and FIFA throw the feckin book at them, the tremors from said book throwing reverbirate to the very top of the SFA and we can all start afresh with no R*NGERS and a NEW SFA
mind you i still believe in the TOOTH FAIRY
hh
Whatever happens to them, the underlying truth is that Scottish football is a busted flush. We have authorities which accommodate the Hun – have another few weeks to produce the documents you already have – while they challenge any decision which goes against them. They are financially and morally bankrupt. Scottish football has just popped also.
The Irish league must have more status than ours now. They always wanted us to ‘go back where we came from’. Well, I would happily watch us compete in the Republic’s league than participate in the scam that began years ago but continues in one form or another now.
Hi Fellow Celtic Fans!
I would have thought that any excuse for UEFA/FIFA to expel the SFA would be welcomed by them as this would vastly improve their chances of disbanding the 4 Home Nations and pushing for a British Team.
I can only speak for myself, but as an ex-Pat Scot living in England, and as a CELTIC Supporter who sadly doesn’t support the Scottish Team (23-Caps Jimmy Johnstone, Aiden McGeady etc.) and sees the Scottish Team as an irrelevance, I will not lose any sleep over losing the Scottish National Team… (Don’t get me wrong though; I am very proud of my Scottish and Celtic background, but also proudly own a British Passport. My view will only change if things change in Scotland on a seismic scale; unlikely I would think.)
Now, if the SFA’s (alleged/supposed) incompetence (at best) has anytthing but a positive medium-term impact on Celtic then that is an altogether different matter… (I strongly believe any positive outcome for Celtic would be wholly unintentional by the SFA.)
Yours in Celtic,
TB&F.
Suspension looms? As Caligula is reported to have said of the Roman mob….. ” I wish they only had one neck”
The silver headed Mephisticles- aka agent Green- has certainly perfected his plausible manner down to a fine art.
Gotta Go.. Folks.
Seeya.
Kojo
Still.. Laughin’…. of Course!
Well…there has been much debate about Celtic FC’s position in all of this. Is now the time for us, and indeed all other clubs to voice our grave concerns to the imbeciles that rule our game, or do we sit back and wait until we are screwed over at great expense?
Only in…….ach…yez ken the rest.
all this fretting.
does anyone know how the huns season ticket sales are going ?
or the new jerseys sales are going ?
or how many players will be on the canoe out of there in the 1st June ?
or any revenue streams between now and the start of next season ?

here here
well said
i for one hope when the new season starts, one way or another we are not playing in the same league as them
hh
I am pig sick of this mob!!
We are on our own here,,,dont expect any leadership from the SFA,THEY DONT HAVE THE BALLS TO DO WHATS RIGHT AND THROW THE HUNS OUT OF THE SPL!!!!!!!!
Please god let them die FFS!!!
Hail hail
With each passing day of this depressing saga, I find myself becoming more detached from the game.
Over sixty years of supporting Celtic, when we have had to deal with the denied injustices, is now replaced with the proven knowledge that the game is corrupt….and what are you going to do about it !!
More and more, my oft declared position is shaping up to be the only options.
Belfast Celtic or Derry City.
There is no appetite in Scotland for anything else.
Expect the huns to be banned from next seasons Scottish Cup,hardly a disaster. There is absolutely no way the establishment would allow,”the establishments club” to have justice served on it!!
