Ogilvie was born for this moment as SFA to consider expelling Rangers

877

Although Rangers won their case at the Court of Session today, they have the option not to serve the ruling on the SFA that its Judicial Panel’s 12 month ban on player registration is illegal.  Winning the point in law might sound like a victory, but taking the Association to court breaks membership rules of the SFA, rules imposed on all associations by Fifa.

We will find out soon enough the reach of SFA president, Campbell Ogilvie, who was one of the recipients of an EBT which precipitated Rangers crisis.

Rangers are deep in Sion territory now.  Either they walk away from this showdown, the SFA expel or suspend them from football, or Fifa will shortly remind the SFA of their duties when a member club takes action in the civil courts.

Campbell Ogilvie was born for this moment; it justifies him holding onto his position all these months despite being “heavily conflicted”, according to his chief executive.  I do not expect this to end well.

Despite an independent judicial panel ruling against Rangers, there is no way the office holders at the SFA will expel Rangers, no matter what they do. They would rather jeopardise the Scotland national team and every other club’s European participation.

  1. The owe creditors ( very many that are small companies that need the money as a life line) £55,415,632.

They are proposing to pay back: £4,967,284.

£0.09 for every £1.00. Take it or leave it. More threats to people THEY OWE MONEY to. These “people” are disgusting. Its an absolute scandal. Are Rangers officially the most corrupt/disgusting sporting “institution” the world has ever seen? They must be up there with the worst of the worst. Makes you proud to be Scottish when political midgets are calling them the “fabric of Scottish of society”. Its a s**t stained fabric.

Will Duff & Duffer accept 8 or 9p in the pound toward their fee? If not they will take more from the “Green Pot” than all the other creditors put together…this is absolutely INSANE!

No sell by date on wine but some is better given time and some better drunk young. What kind of stuff have you got?

  3. Gordybhoy – then they are liquidated and new club will be allowed into the SPLalbeit with a 3 year euro ban and will probably be able to argue that they cannot be held responsible for the sins of the old club.

The Scottish establishment will not take the ultimate sanction against Rangers.

  5. All, I posted in an earlier article about the belief of senior business analysts that a European Super league will be a reality before long. UEFA will be impotent to prevent this as the powers in European club football and TV will demand that either UEFA cede to their demands or a new European football federation will be created by the rich and powerful clubs backed by the likes of Sky. FIFA threats to ban players who join the ‘rebel league’ from competing in the world cup or other International football tournaments will mean nothing as the majority of players will not be worried by this their being compensated by the huge salaries being financed through worldwide TV coverage of the super league. Will Celtic be a part of the super league system ? Absolutely we will be, we are a football superpower in terms of support and potential merchandising revenue.

I could be wrong but I believe from a brief raid of the CVA proposal that the admin’s fees will need deducted first. I’m sure that reduces the offer by 4 million?

And what was that dope outiside the court withering on about. Telling us there were 3 options for the SFA all of them mire stringent than the one before. But only telling us what two of then are.

  10. Lord Justice Glennie has basically said to the SFA, you crowd had a chance to severely punish the huns but you took the easy option, I am now giving you a second chance to stick it to them big style.

The SFA either impose greater sanctions on the hun if they accept the ruling or incur the wrath of FIFA/UEFA if they accept it and do nothing.

CVA is 9 pence in the £, take it or leave it, whilst Bluff and Bluffer’s bill is over £5.5M. AYE Hector’s going accept that. Liquidation and sale of assets more likely.

Look at all the “TBCs” from page 15 of the CVA Proposal.

    Creditor Claim (£)

HM Revenue & Customs – the EBT Case TBC

Supporter Debenture Holders – see paragraph 5.28 TBC

    Employees TBC

    Total TBC

While there is 1 TBC no-one can give a “penny in the pound” figure. What are creditors voting for? This is a joke.

That’s decent stuff going by price. Some Rioja in there? Red wine, generally speaking, if decent will improve with age providing it’s kept somewhere cool and dark. The trick is to know when to drink it as it reaches a peak and goes downhill thereafter. It should, however, always be drinkable if it’s been stored correctly. Best to start drinking the cheaper ones first as they are less likely too have been made with longevity in mind.

  20. Oldtim – Sorry I missed you and BT on the last game of the season! Hopefully we will get a catch up soon….. I could help you with the wine! Hope your well

I know you didn’t ask me, but most red wine keeps in the bottle for years. Most only gets better. There are a few exceptions. It’s best to keep them in a place where the temperature doesn’t vary too much, ideally quite cool, and out of direct sunlight. If possible, it’s best also to keep the bottles flat.

I hope it tastes good when you open it.

Could FIFA impose a worldwide transfer embargo on them for unpaid transfer fees to various clubs around Europe? Or insist that the SFA do so?

what can our club do though? can we buy a club in another country and move? I don’t know but I would rather watch celtic play somewhere else e.g. Against say galway or crew alexandra or hell I’d rather see my team play at king george v park in wishaw than take part in this wwe wrestling type charade of a sport our game will become if this mob of incompetent corrupt (allegedly) eejits get their way.

Fifa got fed up with Sion and the court nonsense and stated that Swiss FA was to hammer them or be banned from world football.

Sion and Uefa went to CAS and Sion lost.
