ANGE POSTECOGLOU revealed new Bhoy Oh Hyeon-gyu was his priority striker target in this transfer window.

The South Korean international has signed a five-year contract after his K-League club side Suwon Samsung Bluewings accepted a £2.5million bid for their powerful forward who scored 14 goals last season.

Postecoglou couldn’t be more happy to finally get the transfer over the line with Tuesday night’s deadline looming.

WELCOME TO CELTIC…Ange Postecoglou has a hug for new Bhoy Oh Hyeon-gyu.

The champions had originally been been linked with World Cup hitman Cho Gue-sung, but that interest failed to progress satisfactorily and Ho emerged as an alternative.

It was obvious the 21-year-old hitman was eager to join up at Parkhead and the Celtic boss, speaking to the club website, admitted: “I have watched Oh for some time and he is the striker I really wanted as I think he will be a great fit in our squad.

“Really importantly, I know that he had his heart set on joining us, too, and that his own perseverance has been crucial in making this deal happen, so his determination to join Celtic has been very clear.

SCARF ACE…Oh Hyeon-gyu shows his joy at Lennoxtown.

“We are delighted to bring Oh to Celtic. He is a young, talented striker with great attributes and someone who is ready to take the next stage in his career – a player who is hungry, eager to develop and to achieve success.

“We are really pleased to welcome him to the club and look forward to working with him and settling him into our squad.”

Oh is the fourth of Postecoglou’s signings in this window. He follows Canadain World Cup right-back Alistair Johnston and J-League pair, centre-back Yuki Kobayashi and defensive midfielder Tomoki Iwata.
