There is nothing easier for an agent than to promote his player by ‘leaking’ that a club is interested in his client. Agent contacts scout noting the player’s situation and scout acknowledges information. This is often just a thumbs up sign, but that’s enough for the agent to confirm the club are considering his player.
Scouts are incentivised to be polite to agents and vice-versa. Clubs get annoyed at distractive headlines suggesting they are pursuing a player whom they are not, but are not sufficiently troubled to upset an agent trying to get his player a deal.
Of course Odsonne Edouard’s agent contacted Celtic about the player’s availability, of course Celtic were polite when approached. Is Odsonne on our target list? Only if he is super-cheap. Even then…..

I so hope I am wrong but I am seriously concerned.
And,another day goes by,without a dish washed. Those,????? working hard at home,as we keep being told, could be doing anything.Trying to get hot water to the old stand, stacking merchandise in the superstore.I see another player we were” Really interested in,”has been signed up by Brugge.Who also have guys working hard back home.Maybe a smidgeon harder than ours,it would seem.
Meanwhile a domestic erupts in the Balikwisha household,as his wife screams”Will you stop sitting by the fekin phone and help me with the kids.Your arse has not moved in a month.

Everyone knows the rules, they aren’t exactly complicated. if Uefa give in to the exceptionalism once for such an obvious and basic breach then the game’s a bogey and we have weak easily manipulated people in the most important positions. And the game suffers
We have the benefit of having someone at Celtic who helps draw up those boring regulations, fortunately.
