Celtic’s season is perched at a tantalising angle, but if you know your history, you’ll know that such pent-up potential often flounders in scrappy cup encounters. Set to face Kilmarnock in the League Cup final, they are favourites in the league and have not allowed a Scottish club to lay a glove on them in almost three months. No one is tipping against them in any competition, but despite being in exactly this situation many times in the last 40 years, only once have they been able to see out a straightforward looking campaign and collect the three trophies available.
All it takes is a bumpy away ground in the middle of winter to level the playing field (metaphorically, if only it would literally) and deliver the inevitable cup exit. Our chances of winning tomorrow are no better than 50/50. Inverness know the script, they are a decent team who, despite two cup exits to Celtic last season, had enough in their locker to deny us five points in the league.
Celtic have a potential of five cup games remaining this season across both competitions, but after Inverness, only one of those can be away from home. With league form seemingly set by metronome, you’re looking at one of the most dangerous games of the season tomorrow.

Watch Tommy swing into action.
I’m sure someone will tell Davis which one is the huns – assuming they are in the draw of course
BMCUW-It is painful listening to Kittoch going ten rounds with the English language on a Friday night.:}
Why has Fergus McCann never been nominated for an honour? Surely his services to Scottish football should be recognised and rewarded with at least an OBE. We should push for an award for the Bunnet as well as ask that Celtic erect a statue of this guy alongside the other greats of Celtic FC.
Lest we forget we could have ended up with charlatans at the helm rather than Fergus
Oglach
I’m all for a statue for Fergus and would be happy to contribute but I wouldn’t want him to be tainted by that Establishment royalty-led back-scratching nonsense.
HH
I see the huns own web site coming out with excuses already
Sally is still without several first team stars including Kane Hemmings Who ?
He has played 6mins against Malmo, 15mins against St Johnstone anf 61 mins against Killie
Never mentioned whether their leading scorer Owen Goal is fit or not
oglach
Wee Fergus is waaaaayyyyy too cool for the ole tainted honours.
I have always been an admirer of Fergus and I always will.
The Wee Man brought us back from the brink of oblivion and set us on the path to success, on and off the park.
However, the man who kept us there and kept his head whilst many of us were losing ours, is Brian Quinn.
A brave, honest Celtic man

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You forget-I’m from Kilwinning. English is a second language there,and optional.
Ole Tommy and Billy might not be averse to the ole back scratchin’ nonsense.
Anyways, in view of possible adverse weather conditions, and likely physical robustness of tomorrow’s challenge, could tomorrow be the day to play the Musk Oxettes in midfield?
Afternoon Bhoys
I am on a bit of a health kick at the mo (it is that time of the year and indeed Fat Bhoys Slim 3!) and planned to walk into town tomorrow to meet up with fellow CQNers, catch the game at The Admiral and have a few beers. The hope is that the walk then negates the beers!!
I am doing this with Smashing Milk Bottles (SMB), Mrs CRC and another pal. Anyway SMB came up with his very first ever good idea and suggested that we should turn this into a good cause and try and raise some money for the Vanessa Riddle appeal.
http://www.justgiving.com/vanessa-appeal
Our team of 4 will walk a total of 34.3 miles, with my individual walk amounting to 9.5 miles (I will also no doubt have to carry SMB on my shoulders when he tires). Our green walk will be completed irrespective of Hail (Hail), snow or rain!
If you want to sponsor us, then drop me a wee email at celticrollercoaster@yahoo.co.uk.
We will provide photo evidence as well.
Bada bing that’ll be you big old lonely Bhoy the night then,
What channel is tomorrows game on if tomorrows game is on
Im sure it won’t be lost on the hun hordes that Billy Davies has suddenly appeared on the scene and Sally is under pressure,dignity indeed.Look for him getting another shift on Shortbread on Sunday covering the hun v Dundee Utd game
Sky Sports 3
Ghuys i would normally not advocate acceptance of honours from Lizzy or any of her ilk and was rather miffed when MON did so. But an official recognition of Fergus by HM for services to Scottish football will surely hurt the Orcs – Sir Fergus McCann – now has a kind of get it right up you Hun ring to it.
VERY GOOD NEWS FROM GCT.
“It’s me, Tam.
Got out of hospital this afternoon (Friday) after 6 days.
I’m on the mend but still nowhere near 100%. I’ve been signed off work for 8 weeks and been ordered to have complete rest and avoid any stress. I have a blood pressure machine and have to check it twice a day. I am also on medication for the blood pressure. It is normal now and I need to keep it that way. I am not allowed to drive for a period of 3 months, and need a medical before I can get behind the wheel.
My left peripheral vision is badly impaired and the damage is permanent. I am lucky though because it could have been much worse. The consultant said that while the damage is permanent, I will see improvement in that my brain will get used to it and make adjustments over time. I’s like if someone is standing to my left, I can’t see them without focusing directly on them. It’s weird but as I say, I’ll get used to it and it will seem normal after a while.
For the last few days I have been reading CQN on my smart phone but for some reason I couldn’t post as I was unable to login. I did read the kind comments from CQNers when Paul announced that I was in the hospital and it really gave me a lift. I did try writing emails to you and Paul on my phone but it was very difficult for me, but I am home now and on my laptop and it is much easier.
I also feel tired easily, so will leave it until over the weekend before venturing back into the blog. It’s 7pm Friday and I need a good night’s sleep in my own bed.
Would you mind giving CQN an update and letting them know that I’ll be back soon and please pass on my thanks for their comments? Their words really did give me a big lift when I was at my lowest ebb.
Thanks for caring mate and speak to you soon.
Hail Hail
Tam”
Rangers Rumours
any truth in the rumour rangers owe 1m for lafferty after he’s played 100 games?
——————————————————————————–
I’m pretty sure it’s true and if it is i can see Lafferty picking up a more “serious” injury and being out for the season as it doesn’t look like Whyte The S***e will be prepared to give Burnley £1M
——————————————————————————–
Yes it is 100 percent true
It is true.
Thanks for the update!
I just watched the NL Friday press meeting on Channel 67. The immorality and irresponsibility of the LL is truly shameful and cringeworthy. When you consider the levels of vitriolic sectarian abuse this man has had to put up with, youd think that at some point these lowlifes would back off. But no; practically every question was loaded in a cheap attempt to give them tomorrows banner headline. This headline will be sensationalised enough to provoke the hun masses (well the ones who cant see through it) into another anti-Lennon fit. I’m fed up hearing ‘they’re only trying to sell papers’ crap. The atmosphere surrounding football in this country is volatile at the best of times, but they’re happy to make it worse in order to keep a job.
I have a feeling that many huns are dying inside as they watch their beloved club sink into oblivion. We have never been in this situation before, where the ‘establishment club’ face shame, embarrassment and fans face mega worry on a daily basis. They know we’re revelling in it. They know that whatever happens to them short of a £50 million transfusion from somewhere, they will be the laughing stock, with us having bragging rights of Lisbon or 7-1 magnitude. I hope I’m wrong but I can see a backlash from the bigots who will not be able to handle it. FFS its in their DNA, and it even comes out when they win a major honour( Barcelona) or when the Telly breaks down (Manchester) or when they are just being good old Anti Catholic (too many examples to mention). So whats it going to be like when they hit the abyss?
I’ve gave up on the LL ages ago. They are a disgrace and an insult to most peoples intelligence, and they are anti Celtic in the extreme. They continue to crank it up and to hell with the consequences. Todays offerings tell us that nothing has changed on that front, and I suspect never will in my lifetime of living in this poisonous dump of a country.
According to soccerbase Laughatme has played 86 first team games for the huns not including European games
Wikipedia has him having played 101 times for Rangers
HAil Hail
From the R&STV
Neil Lennon has said that he does not subscribe to the theory that Celtic and Rangers need each other to be strong in order to thrive.
Celtic currently lead the Scottish Premier League by a point form their traditional rivals, also holding a game in hand, and are currently aiming to land three domestic trophies this season.
The club’s manager said that their current position was down to hard work from within and was not reliant on strong opposition.
With Rangers working to financial restraints and awaiting the outcome of a potentially damaging tax tribunal, Lennon said that it would not worry him if his biggest rival was weakened.
“I’m not in the camp who believe the SPL, or Celtic, need a strong Rangers,” Lennon told Sky Sports. “I’d be quite happy if we were a lot stronger than Rangers.
“A lot of people think Celtic and Rangers need each other, well at the minute we don’t.
“We’re in a strong position financially with good young players coming through. But we’ve had to work hard and be patient for that.
“We are talking hypothetically as we don’t know what the outcome is going to be.
“But the people who suffer the most as always are the supporters and I have a lot of sympathy for the Rangers fans with the situation being the way it is at the moment.”
