ONE SCOTT IN AND ONE OUT AHEAD OF PLAY-OFF DEADLINE

IT is a case of one Scott in and another out as Brendan Rodgers continues with the re-shaping of his Celtic squad after last night’s dramatic Champions League qualifier victory over Astana.

Rodgers will today step up his pursuit of Aston Villa winger Scott Sinclair ahead of Monday’s deadline for signing players to play in the forthcoming Champions League Play-off round.

With Celtic now assured of European football until at least Christmas – hopefully in the Champions League – Rodgers will be hoping that it is fifth time lucky as the Irishman tries to get the player he knows well from their time at Swansea to join him in Paradise.

Celtic will splash cash to a level not seen since the heady days of Martin O’Neill’s time as Celtic boss.

CQN expects Sinclair to be in the squad for the Play-offs.

Meanwhile Scott Allan is poised to be reunited with his former Hibs boss Alan Stubbs on a season-long loan at Rotherham.

The Celtic midfielder quit the Easter Road side in a £300,000 four-year deal at the start of last season.

However, Allan only started three times under ex-boss Ronny Deila and made just 17 appearances in total during the campaign.

The 24-year-old started his career with Dundee United before a move to West Brom in 2012, but he failed to settle at the Hawthorns and Stubbs brought him back to Scotland in July 2014 when he was released by the Midlands outfit.

Rotherham have also completed the signing of another former Hoops star in Kelvin Wilson. The 30-year-old centre-half has agreed a one-year contract after being released by Nottingham Forest in the summer.

With Rodgers wishing to reduce the size of the Celtic squad, Allan’s time at Celtic Park could be up.
