ONE-TIME Celtic wonder Bhoy Dylan McGeouch has signed for English third-tier side Carlisle United.
The midfielder was tipped for a massive future by Neil Lennon when he made his Hoops home debut as an 18-year-old prospect on November 26 2011.
McGeouch came on for James Forrest in a league match against St Mirren at Parkhead and astounded the watching near-50,000 audience with a mesmerising goal only eight minutes after his arrival.
WONDER STRIKE…Dylan McGeouch makes a fabulous first impression with a solo goal on his Parkhead debut, a 5-0 win over St Mirren on November 26 2011.
The teenager picked up the ball in his own half and set off on a mazy 60-yard run before finishing off with an accurate low left-foot drive past Paisley keeper Craig Samson for the team’s fifth goal.
Unfortunately, it was a false dawn in the youngster’s launch into the big-time and, following just one other strike, he was on his way from Celtic to Hibs in August 2015.
The highlight of his time at Easter Road, where he was again managed by Lennon, was the Scottish Cup Final win over Mark Warburton’s Ibrox side in 2016.
UP IN THE AIR…Dylan McGeouch is hoisted high by Beram Kayal after his amazing goal against St Mirren on his Parkhead debut.
He was signed by Jack Ross for Sunderland during the club’s first season in League One in 2018. After just 30 league appearances in 18 months at the Wearsiders, the ball-playing middle-of-the-park operator moved to Aberdeen.
However, Pittodrie gaffer Jim Goodwin decided against offering him a contract renewal and the player signed a short-term contract with Forest Green Rovers last term.
McGeouch, now 30, was a free agent after leaving the club in the summer and he has now penned a two-year deal with newly-promoted League One outfit Carlisle.
