If you are my generation, you will still wince at the prospect of a visit to Pittodrie. Despite a calamitous 2025, Aberdeen managed to beat Celtic in May’s Scottish Cup Final, so even younger fans are entitled to be cautious ahead of tonight.
That sentiment will not be understood by Aberdeen fans. After a resounding 6-2 win over Livingston 10 days ago, they crashed to earth at Rugby Park on Saturday, losing 3-0 to Kilmarnock, with club captain Graeme Shinnie shown a red card. By any measure, they are a team in crisis.
Like Martin O’Neill, their boss Peter Leven has the role on an interim basis, his third such stint. Unlike O’Neill, Leven does not expect to remain in charge until the end of the season. His colourful director of football, Lutz Pfannenstiel, hopes to make a permanent appointment soon. That state of flux contrasts with the stability Martin offers Celtic.
Last night’s win for St Mirren was welcome – to a point. The result can only be enjoyed if Celtic take all three points tonight. Martin O’Neill has set Celtic on an exceptional run of form, but no team in this league race can be confident of winning any game.

Saint Stivs 3:23 pm
West coast Govan time is 336 years behind.
If the game is cancelled will the Collective boycott the cancellation and turn up anyway?
Saint Stivs on 4th February 2026 3:37 pm
just a thought, but maybe a postponement would be better for us than risking the points on a freakish pitch.
*on the other hand their thuggish captain would be available in a rescheduled game

I believe the issue is that the fan media are supporting the Collective position re ‘threatening staff and self policing’ , hence they’ve been put on the naughty step until they grow up.
‐—‐——-
Are all fan media lumped together?
I have stopped listening to several as its a constant negative diatribe, but others are IMHO more balanced.

When is the best time for a boycott?
If and when this league is lost?
——————
what attendance will prove a boycott was succesful ? less than 20,000 ? less than 30,000 ?
last season we had our highest cup attendance in 30 years, 59,000 v hibs,
but the trend for the pass 10 years has been home cup games somewhere below 35,000
with i think a 18,000 v a lower league team maybe 6 years ago.
so what does a succesful boycott look like.
i did find it funny, an advocate for the boycott is trying to sell his ticket, so that he might still get a ticket if we get to hampden.
if we have lost the league by the time we play hearts or rangers in the split, boycott those games …..
then again, it is an “auld firm”.
This is why the ruling classes rule generation after generation, eventually we will turn on each other, I am gutted the board have let this come to pass
dundee v motherwell off
Dundee v Hibs off
* Motherwell
The board were right to call out the bullies at the AGM. They were wrong not to communicate the path forward. Their silence doesn’t make this issue disappear – it makes it worse.
The Battered Bunnet, you’re doing an excellent job of backing the dysfunctional Celtic senior management today. For whatever reason they decided to go down the route of employing an absolute spoofer to make signing decisions instead of backing a hugely successful manager. As a result we started the season without making the improvements the team needed and we struggled. They compounded that by employing a replacement so far out of his depth that it could have been the work of hun intent on sabotage. We’ve now been through another transfer window with sticking plasters applied to the team in the hope that MON can work miracles. That is now, being generous, three terrible transfer windows in a row. The senior management at the club have to be replaced. A boycott of a cup game, where there is likely to be a reduced attendance anyway, is a good a way of sending a message as any available at present.
And, despite what you think you’ve seen in a video, the courts will decide if Celtic fans committed any crimes, not the Celtic board.

There’s big and then there’s AI big
I live 50 miles South of Aberdeen and can confirm that we have had a great many rainy days of late. Non-stop today but mainly light.
I feel a sodden pitch helps Aberdeen so I won`t be too disappointed if the game is postponed.
bournesouprecipe on 4th February 2026 4:07 pm
I noticed that the other day :-)))
Massive !!
Are they waiting for the rain to go off so that they don`t get wet whilst inspecting the pitch ?
:-)))
Game off
Game off
C’mon Celtic after last nights result with McCinnis & the minis who i call the McMinis see what i did there , we really need these 3 points tonight against their 14 men ,it will not be easy but just get behind the team forget about boycots for just now & lets get behind Saint Martin & the team , Roar them to this title , & worry about getting rid of the charlatans once it’s been won Hail Hail
Disappointing call off
Hopefully, no fans are massively inconvenienced
If the pitch was heavy and cutting up,would have been a leveller
Game off ?
What a stroke of good luck for Aberdeen with all their injuries and suspensions.
Looks like March 3/4 to get it played
Possibly 4th March, play huns on 1st
Media headlines ifhun win tonight …
The mighty glasgow ringers pull three points ahead of Celtic and three points nearer hearts at top of table…
I’m expecting McCann & Dodds to gift the huns 3 points and plenty of goals tonight so they will have the “points on the board “. The Sheep will probably have a new manager by the time the rearranged fixture is played.
On a positive note the boys can get some rest and have an extra day of training tomorrow.
Stuttgart on the Thursday, Huns Sunday, Aberdeen Wednesday ?

…..
Not sure , suspect they all signed up to the aims of the Collective, so they’re not welcome in the building in case of any unpleasantness.
I suspect there is a timeline end of season to stop the threats otherwise the North Curve will be returned to seating , and season books cancelled.
Crazy situation

@CFC_Collective
“Celtic Fans Collective exists to UNITE supporters and advocate for the interests of all Celtic fans.
Celticfanscollective@gmail.com.”
++++++++++++++++
If fan unity is the aim how will a boycott that is dividing the fans achieve unity?
Cognitive dissonance.
Lots of it about.
+++++++
What is Purpose of a Boycott or indeed The Purpose of the Collective?
What Vision of Celtic do The Collective have post clear out of The Board?
Can The Collective share it?
What Strategy will The Collective adopt to deliver the Vision?
What Policies will the Collective adopt in pursuit of the Strategy?
Who will see the policies are adhered to in order to deliver the Vision?
What visible evidence will there be that the Vision has been delivered?
This is the logical way to bring about change in business which is basically thinking each step through.
There is no evidence this is happening in the Collective and so it will eventually collapse.
Now had the logic been followed before going confrontational and realising a change of personnel is not the solution but a change of policy is, less Pedro more Thinko, then going to Celtic with a FUCKING plan is how to get engagement.
Apologies for the sweary but I despair at times at the stupidity on show from a lot of bright and able supporters well capable of critical thought.
On Purpose for example I approached Celtic to get an answer to my Purpose, vision etc question put to AGM. but not answered because of AGM suspension.
I pointed to shortcomings in the Policy Statement in the AGM papers and provided a draft of what a proper purpose statement would look like.
The answer was that the AGM one will be reviewed and with luck published so everyone knows why Celtic exist.
Now THAT is real change.
Not bumming my load btw, just suggesting a different way to make change happen through cooperation rather than confrontation.
With luck even Dermott Desmond might respond to that type of approach.
Out of curiosity, who are the ‘balanced’ ones?
Tricky 3 games.
Annoying as Aberdeen are struggling. On field and Off.
Typical Nicholson. Gets a decent window then does this.
Sack the Board !
Just hear the games aff, baws…mon the killie then!
Last thing we want is a backlog of games! Really frustrating.
How has your approach done so far, Auldheid?
Timmy7,
Well said sir.
TBB has decided the GB are guilty — no need for proper legal process to be followed, just jail them. He would fit right in with the 60’s RUC or 60’s Mississippi police with this draconian thinking. Not nice to see the mask slip as it’s not pretty. Not what you would wish for from a football supporter, least of all a Celtic fan.
Innocent until proven guilty is a cornerstone of justice.
Unbelievable —- somehow not a surprise.
