Only fretful talking up an early return

125

Best of luck to Jonny Hayes, who will return to Aberdeen after three years at Celtic.  He arrived as the classic antithesis to a ‘project player’; after a seven figure deal , just shy of his 30th birthday.  His time will be remembered for that goal at Ibrox and some solid performances in Europe.

Weekend briefing by Newco said they hope to accommodate some fans at games by late August is aspirational, subject to Scottish Government clearance and ahead of what most clubs are prepared to say at this point.  Unlike cinemas or churches, football stadiums are outdoors and they have nominated seating that is easy to steward.  They should be in the first wave of opening up, but no one in the game is in control of what that will happen.  Clubs with less need to fret are less likely to talk-up an early opening.

Celtic have donated the 50k from James Anderson, to the Celtic Foundation, Aberdeen and Kilmarnock have done similar.

  2. Let’s say Craig Gordon was earning £20,000 a week from Celtic. As a starting goalkeeper that’d be understandable.

If Celtic offered him £4,000 a week aged 37 to be a backup that’s also understandable. He won’t get the same at St Mirren. He probably won’t get it at Hearts either.

Maybe his best bet is to find a backup job in the English Championship. But even then, they will have massive financial woes post-Covid.

Sevco might get less pens without supporters. I think we’ll cope much better than them, 3-5-2 with Griff and Eddie upfront and we’ll do just fine.

The thing is, I think the bigger clubs will come back strongest. Bayen Munich have been relentless and Manchester City have been pure class.

I think we will start off with a winning run.

FF,was I’ll with depression, when he wasn’t playing at Southampton, and the way he was treated. There will be no chance of him going to Chelsea to sit on the bench IMO.Try and cut a deal with Southampton to get him on a permanent deal, they could give him a pay off,or pay some of his salary. He loves it here, and wants to stay.If we can’t get him,The Holy Goalie is out of contract at Bournemouth……

I think Fraser will be back here on loan. Maybe Celtic will have an option to buy but I wouldn’t bet on it. We will see a lot more loan deals in this window.

Celtic like most teams won’t have the cash to spend on transfer fees.

I really think our transfer business will be Elyounoussi or another LW & Forster on loan. A small group of youth prospect signings and maybe Hickey.

Could also see the likes of Shved and Bayo out the door. This is a time of austerity for everyone.

There are some good footballers out there with no club right now. The might fail to find one.

  6. Whoever we may,or may not buy,I don’t think we will be offering 600,000 OVER TWO YEARS,as the Huns have done with Livi for Dykes.HUNbelievable.

  7. Sure I read that the Olympiacos keeper can be had for 2.5 million, and our head of recruitment,is a fan.His record is very impressive.6 foot 7.Whatever,we have to have some movement to get some stability. This will be a nightmare of a close season/transfer window.
