ONLY two Celtic players – Kieran Tierney and Leigh Griffiths – have been named in the PFA Scotland Team of the Year.
Aberdeen and Dundee outnumber the Premiership champions-elect with the likes of goalkeeper Craig Gordon and right-back Mikael Lustig snubbed by their fellow-professionals.
Second-placed Dons have FOUR players in the line-up – right-back Shay Logan, midfielders Graeme Shinnie and Kenny McLean and winger Jonny Hayes.
Keeper Scott Bain and strikers Kane Hemmings and Greg Stewart represent Paul Hartley’s side that didn’t make it into the top six at the cut.
The remaining players, in a 4-3-3 formation, are central defenders Alim Ozturk, of Hearts, and Andrew Davies, of Ross County.
Griffiths, Hayes, Hemmings and Stewart make up the shortlist for PFA Scotland Player of the Year with the Hoops’ 38-goal marksman a certainty to pick up the honour at the awards ceremony in Glasgow on Sunday night.
The Premiership Team of the Year reads: Scott Bain (Dundee); Shay Logan (Aberdeen), Alim Ozturk (Hearts), Andrew Davies (Ross County), Kieran Tierney (Celtic); Jonny Hayes (Aberdeen), Kenny McLean (Aberdeen), Graeme Shinnie (Aberdeen); Kane Hemmings (Dundee), Leigh Griffiths (Celtic) and Greg Stewart (Dundee).
