Oops, we forgot about Sevco 5088

930

We are all familiar with brinksmanship; adopting what seems like an uncompromising position despite acute potential consequences.  Correspondence recently released around the goings-on at Rangers International and associated companies suggests at least two combative parties have been edging towards the brink since last year.  Now it is clear they are both well over the brink, it’s too late for either to back down.

The conclusion of Pinsent Masons’ report was released to the stock market this morning and found “no evidence that Craig Whyte had any involvement with Sevco Scotland Limited (now called The Rangers Football Club Limited), the company which ultimately acquired the business and assets of The Rangers Football Club P.L.C. from its administrators; nor which would suggest that Craig Whyte invested in The Rangers Football Club Limited or Rangers International Football Club plc”.

All of which, sharp-eyed observers will note, is exactly what Mr Whyte is so animated about.

Let me run through that list of companies which Mr Whyte was not involved with again:

Sevco Scotland Ltd: check
AKA The Rangers Football Club Ltd: check
Rangers International Football Club PLC: check
Sevco 5088 Ltd: wait a minute, they missed out Sevco 5088 Ltd!!

This is where the project resembles trying to push water uphill:

Rangers International plc claim Sevco 5088 Ltd is a subsidiary of theirs.

Mr Whyte claims to be a director and beneficiary of Sevco 5088 Ltd.

Pinsent Masons’ report’s published conclusion fails to comment on Mr Whyte’s status in connection with Rangers International’s claimed subsidiary company, Sevco 5088 Ltd.

The SFA prohibited the new associate member club from having any connection with Mr Whyte.  Last week the SFA chief executive acknowledged the seriousness of the club potentially breaking the conditions of membership, but said the Association would await the outcome of the Pinsent Masons’ report.  The published conclusions of which does not address the question.

Rangers International have just dared the SFA to act.  They are familiar with the tactics of brinksmanship, however….

Just in case you are new to this subject…..

Hell will freeze over before any football association with Campbell Ogilvie as president will act on this matter.  “Heavily conflicted” Campbell will ensure his board take no action.

I was delighted to read one man who knew exactly what he was dealing with when he took on the SFA.  Echoing the comments made here yesterday, Fergus McCann said:

“Filling Celtic Park against Barcelona or Spartak or Rangers is the easy part.

“The part that really counts is consistent support at every game at Celtic Park and that will deliver the top-level matches.

“My time at the Croy CSC reminds me of the importance of dedicated support.

“The members knew that their role was vital, especially in the hard times.”

The future of our club is very much in our own hands and these are important times to fill out Celtic Park.

Waterstones, Stirling, 5-7pm TODAY!

I’ll be at Waterstones, Stirling, with Willie Wallace from 5pm until 7pm this evening.  Willie will be available for photographs and signing copies of his autobiography, Heart of a Lion.  If you’re from the area, call in, I’ll see you there.

Many thanks to all who bought tickets for the Celtic top signed by the Seville squad, we sold out last night.  Thanks also to those who are bidding on the fabulous signed Messi top, you still have a few days left to get involved.  The spirit of Walfrid is alive and well 125 years on.

Bratbaak was a great player just not for us as you say. I think that’s the problem with signing players, they have to fit in with your system.

I think with strikers you have to look for a 1-in-3 goal-scoring rate, when they’re at a dominant club like Rosenborg that really has to be a bare minimum. When you get a player at a more provincial club scoring at that rate then you’ve got to think they’re good players and natural goal-scorers.

Some players can’t make the step up but you’d like to think that a player scoring at a mid-table club would score for fun at Celtic.

On the other hand, a player like Daryl Murphy who has never being a scorer isn’t going to turn into one just because he moves to Celtic.

TSOAL Delighted with the news, it goes without saying that she should never have been imprisoned in the first place. For her own sake I hope she comes South and lives out her life in peace. If she stays first opportunity they get, they will pick her up again.

I doubt she will.. Still cant believe things like this allowed to happen.

Read abit about the craigavon 2 and i see gerry conlon is behind campaign to release them. 1 them inside since he was 17. Scary stuff and even worse if they are innocent.

Colin duffy just released after being found innocent and re aressted again yday. Seems certain elements are behind these aressts in order to stir things.

  7. I genuinely think I’m done with Scottish Football now.

Hearing many, and ultimately NFL, as good as confirming Sevco’s eventual (Though not that long really) return to the ‘top flight’ and indeed Paul67 granted as much yesterday was the cherry on the icing for me.

The statements today and the ongoing selective hearing and seeing of the people who are meant to run the sport fairly in Scotland has done for me.

Revisionism on such a scale has me bewildered.

And the thing which sticks in my craw the most?

Celtic should speak up. To hang with the political consequences. Damn the myth of any goodwill we receive or have garnered.

Celtic should speak up – let the heavens fall though they may, for I doubt justice will be done.

Rangers tell lies and flaunt rules on a near daily basis, yet our club sits silent.

And our manager discusses the prospect of The The Rangers Internationale returning to the SPL.

    It’s beyond sad.

If the UTT finds for HMRC then the scale of tax avoidance reaches the size where the rest of the UK starts to take notice and ask for its money back.

At that point the illusion of continuity will be shattered by the very folk who shelter behind it and benefit from it.

At present no individuals are pursuable by BDO, it is like most liquidations trying to pry a few bob out of a business that no longer exists. But if ebts are irregular payments that opens up another can of worms altogether.

Players pursued to pay the tax they owe with no useless indemnity to protect them. Guys who already work in msm or have pals in it all working to hold together a reality that the FTT created with its form over substance ruling.

I’ve come to the conclusion that unless someone at the SFA does a Charlotte Fakes, this debacle will continue to unfold taking our game with it.

I just hope Celtic are well aware of the dangers ahead and they are doing things behind the scenes whilst saying nothing for fear of bringing the whole house of cards down before they have moved to a new deck.

Uly, I think a lot of people are teetering on the same knife-edge.

I have a serious suggestion, meaning a practical proposal, not advice or a challenge or any of that garbage. You don’t need advice from me.

You are a very articulate and quick-witted man. Ask Celtic to let you have 15 minutes with Peter Lawwell, on the phone or face to face. Don’t take no for an answer. Call in the help of Paul 67.

Put your predicament to Peter. See if he can convince you that Celtic’s chosen stance is the right one. If you are ready to chuck it, try this avenue as a last resort.

I have visions of Tini working right now on the protype of the midgie killer you describe.

I have never thought they would be eradicated but what I had hoped is that Scottish football would realise just what a danger the mindset that refuses to die represents to the integrity of the game and take steps to protect itself. Instead the very opposite seems to be happening with rules and processes designed to protect everyone ( including Rangers supporters themselves) being ignored or revised to protect the very model that has failed.

Whilst there is a sectarian aspect to events the real problem is a heady mix of money and greed served on a rocket salad (and by rocket I mean crass stupidity).

In fact it is probably the latter that infuriates me more than anything ie being treated as an idiot by morons. The latest PM event is yet another instance of moronic action that tests even that definition.

  14. Auldheid,

I cannot decide if the long game is intended to gradually get the Huns of Scotland used to the idea that their team no longer exists then, when The Rangers also disappear, the predicted social unrest does not materialise.

    OR

The long game is intended to dull the senses of the rest of Scotland`s football fans so that when the The Rangers achieve SPL status, we will accept it as the drip feed has done its job.
