Operation relieve the gullible of £411 each underway

“My father wasn’t at all keen on me becoming a Rangers supporter.  He was a Glasgow policeman and because of that he resented the whole football scene in Glasgow.  ‘He was actually very anti-football.  When we were kids growing up he was very vocal on his dislike of the bigotry in football.  The police in Glasgow at that time saw it as a basis for thuggery.

“My father took me to that first game reluctantly…”

Dave King, shooting the breeze with the Daily Mail in March last year.

“Like all of you who read this letter, I have always taken pride in being a Rangers supporter. It is something I inherited from my father who, in turn, inherited the legacy from my grandfather. This is what Rangers fans do. We pass on our pride and belief in Rangers to our children.”

Dave King’s letter to the season ticket marketing database last week.

One of the two statements is probably true, although with Dave, who knows?  South African judge, Brian Southwood, referred to King as a “glib and shameless liar”.  Despite this, the SFA decided he was an appropriate person to run a football club, free to send out messages like this, with the objective of relieving fans of an average of £411 per person.  This is what happens when you enable people already branded a shameless liar, what do you expect?

I hope the SFA and Trading Standards are alerted to what’s going on, don’t leave it until it’s too late.

I’m waiting for new of the Ben Nevis Huddle, which should have taken place at the peak of the mountain in the last hour.  Over 80 people set out on the climb this morning to raise funds for the Celtic Foundation – to feed the hungry, provide shelter for the homeless and help others in need.

It’s a magnificent Celtic effort.  My wee brother’s up there, you can give his fundraising a pound or two here.  Thank you.

if not, then was his goal from 2nd phase of play ?

I hope Scotland ask the Irish FA for some compensation for that offside goal

  4. None of the ‘decent’ Europeans teams are going to lose much sleep if drawn against either of these 2 sides in the finals. A distinct lack of class evident in both squads.

  5. Murphy is doing OK. Don’t think he got much of a chance at Celtic. Too slow for some supporters and didn’t cost nearly enough for others.

  6. Good feature on Five Lice earlier looking at the careers of WGS and MON.

Spoiled at the end by Roddy Forsythe. When asked what it was about the great bond ex Celtic managers had with each other, he went on to say it was a bond all Old Firm managers have.

Then told a story of Walter Smith and Neil Lennon talking together at some dinner do.

    What a load of nonsense.

He’s a poor footballer.. He won’t repeat the season he has just had.

Couldn’t believed we paid a reported 1.5m for him.

    Playing ok so far today.

  8. Ireland mixing passing game with long ball to good affect. Holohan superb Walters and Murphy causing havoc. Scotland dangermen not in the game.

  9. Haven’t seen 1 sec of any game

But ( and could be wrong )

Mulgrew cannot be anywhere match fit – he played what 135 mins at end of season, which finished 3 or 4 weeks ago for Celtic

Absolutely no idea why they play International games so long after a season has finished,

a pre-season friendly would be how I would look at it

If I had any interest, which I ain’t, couldn’t care less

  10. WGS has got his team selection and tactics wrong. Robertson and Anya should have started on the left. Coleman is running riot, fortunately for Scotland his crossing is as bad as your aver erase Celtic full back. At CP he was anonymous. Manager needs to admit mistake and make changes at half time.

Up in Silverburn earlier and bought one of the Boca10 t-shirts. The guy was telling me how they sell so many more of the Celtic ones in comparison to the monkeys.

He was recently ordering replacement stock and noticed that most of the blue ones were XL or XXL :-)

A first half which has seen no football played from either side.

Ps. In Phnom Penh watching the game in a pub with Lisbon lions pictures on the wall and the lassie that’s bringing the beers is wearing a tight Celtic away top from last season… What’s not to like!

    PS. 1-1 Shaunaldinho.

  16. Watching this not knowing who to support. Then I think about the SFA and I still do not know who to go for. Then low and behold enter Proven and McCann at half time. Come on Ireland

Martin’s last season was the only one I did not enjoy when he was manager.

I would say he liked a direct style but we also played some great football on the deck.

I would never term Celtic as a route one team under Martin.
