Opportunity for squad to prove their worth tonight

248

Team selection for tonight’s game will be a big call for Brendan Rodgers. His desire to get players fully match fit will be tempered with the need for limbs to rest. I expect to see a much-changed side against Kilmarnock, perhaps with Kundai Benyu, Kristoffer Ajer and Eboue Kouassi getting a start.

There is a risk in dropping top players, especially in cup competitions, but some risks have to be taken.

The other important matter is the getting the sugar in our tea, otherwise known as Leigh Griffiths, on full sharpness for next week’s visit of Astana. I’d expect Leigh to get an hour tonight.

    In today’s E Tims article Res12 gets a mention.

    http://etims.net/?p=11803

The author met PL on Friday and he is hardly a big fan of the Board.

However what he was told ties in with what was heard about a month ago in respect of Celtic grasping the Res12 nettle.

The reference to UEFA and SFA is highly significant because anyone who has read the update to shareholders on CQN Magazine will have seen there are definite questions to be asked in that area.

Awaaaay back in time before the evidence of skullduggery hardened it was nevertheless an opportunity to have leverage in respect of SFA reform.

I’m encouraged by the E Tims feedback that the significance of Res12 is finally being grasped.

That does not mean things will turn out as hoped, we are up against desperate people desperate to keep the lid on, but it looks like a step in the right direction.

  16. Interesting debate on TSFM regarding the Jimmy Calderwood admission that SDM got him the job at Dunfermline.

One point of view, it’s no different from a Company Director you know getting you a job with a Businessman he knew… i.e. Networking… MMmmmmmmmm

I posted a c&p from comments on Mike Ashley’s Judicial Review of a SFA Tribunal.

Of course the reason MA got fined was on a “dual interest” charge. In light of the Rangers owner appointing Dunfermline’s Manager, this is quite interesting…

“Challenging this decision, Ashley argued that MASH Holdings was legally distinct from him personally and that there was “no direct evidence” that either he or the company had nominated Llambias as a director. The court rejected both of these “technical points”, finding that Ashley’s actions were “within the ambit of the rule about influence in another club”, which was drawn fairly broadly, Connal said…

…A third ground of challenge brought by Ashley was of “more general interest”, because it “went to the substance of the particular prohibition” on dual interest, Connal said. However, the court rejected this point too.

“Ashley argued that any director appointed was under the usual collection of statutory and other duties and there was no reason to assume that that director would not act in accordance with those duties so there could therefore be no issue over inappropriate influence,” Connal said.

“However, the judge said that there was no ‘need to posit misconduct’ on the part of the director. The appointment as director of ‘a particular candidate in whom the appointer has confidence because of his particular qualities is one way of influencing the direction which a company will follow …

So that was two Clubs in different Countries, never mind different Leagues.

If the owner of one Club is placing Managers into Clubs in the same Division, surely this is a huge conflict of interest.

That Manager, who in this case is also a fan of the other Club, may well feel influence, what if there were some dodgy results between the Teams?? Questions may be asked… or not depending on the Circumstances.

    Hail Hail

Im dont want to be too conspiratorial, but i recall a press story years ago. Basically two guys were hiking in the backwoods and they spotted a huge UFO. The UFO landed, and that was bad enough, but what happened next is scary.

The hikers, in shock, watched as the UFO opened up. Expecting grey aliens, you can imagine how flabbergasted they were, when two seven foot tall Black Chickens exited the UFO.

This must be connected to Yorkston:)
