Ordinary looking Celtic fail to show

1243

Despite a remarkably solid defensive record, we have lost four and three goals on our two visits to Ibrox this season, although two of yesterday’s goals were lost with a two man deficit.  We were deservedly a goal down before Cha Du-Ri was ordered off and the contest irrevocably skewed.  Several Celtic players looked panicked from the opening minutes and it wasn’t until Kris Commons started to menace the Rangers midfield that we appeared comfortable in possession.

Until then, we looked pretty ordinary.

After a remarkably consistent run of games that ensured this season’s league title is Celtic’s, two big games, which could each have delivered a trophy, have been lost.

The drive to the line which is needed for teams to fulfil their potential is not there yet. It will come. Days like yesterday, months like October, are what team building is all about.

If you need a pick-me-up, enjoy The Celtic Family video above, its’ sure to hit the spot.

  1. There have been experiments in various countries with refereeing exchanges. Refs from other countries have come in to do big games. The problem is that the SFA has not taken part. Why is that?

Is it because foreign refs coming into Scotland would show up our homegrown officials? Remember how much praise was given to the displays of Mr Hamer and the others who came in during the refs’ wee boycott.

  2. Im dismayed at the amount of Celtic fans who still take the laptop loyals word and who also seem willing to trust the refs/sfa over our own club. NL is the manager we as a club need he has the passion of the support in him and we should back that no matter. Everyone of us would have been screaming at ref for the decisions not given on Sunday. As would any fan or manager the world over. NL is a hate figure for Scottish society and i believe we wont realise what we had until he moves to pastures new.

    Very good article again.

I would love for you to name and shame but understand why you can’t.

Is refereeing unique in that it is the only profession whose conduct you cannot comment upon?

  4. I like that Lennon gets angry by the same things as me. I like that he speaks his mind and says what we are thinking.

Keep the pressure on the SFA and media, they will learn to respect him.

I will enjoy him being a worthy championship winning manager as he was a player and a captain.

I am confident of European success again at Parkhead under his stewardship. This will be even more enjoyable as it will make the haters pig sick.

He is not perfect or above criticism by any means, but I feel he has done a fantastic job for us. We have had a few setbacks along the way but we are heading in the right direction.

  5. It’s a Celtic thing, remember when some numpty up in Aberdeen

remonstrated with one of their legendary players (Gordon

Strachan)? media were looking for a 8-10 -12 match ban.

James Forrest is Player of the Year for his performance in the 2nd half of the 3-3 Killie game alone. If it wasn’t for him (with a nod towards Stokes as well) who knows if we’d have gone on that run.

  7. Right Bhoys voting closes at 1.30pm for naming your top 2 tims at Celtic this season. If you’ve not voted yet then please note that I need 2 votes.

Any votes cast after 1.30pm will not be counted and you may still be charged :-)

  8. Off topic, but great quote defending DSK – At an earlier hearing his lawyer Henri Leclerc told the French radio station Europe 1: “He could easily not have known because, as you can imagine, at these kinds of parties you’re not always dressed, and I challenge you to distinguish a naked prostitute from any other naked woman.”

Very good point. Had we lost, Neil Lennon might not have been in charge for much longer.

I said at the time, that it was a very important point we got that day. I was ridiculed by some for suggesting it was a good point to get with some even saying it may have been better to have lost so that a change in managment could occur.

Has anyone any info on the “Dynamic Pricing”

Have heard Hearts have used it for next years season tickets

Basically started of with a lower price for next year and after half an hour put all categories up by £50 and then half an hour later another £50 increase.

needless to say consternation and very few renewals so far?

If we can’t have foreign referees, then how about our referees performances being monitored/assessed by impartial observers, i.e. someone outwith our own association. I can’t imagine too many of our so called top flight refs staying in the top flight if that were to happen.

  13. Sandman Is Neil Lennon on

    Let me tell you this:

Be beguiled not by flammery, semantics and ‘dignity’.

The only thing they find objectionable about Neil Francis Lennon is that he ‘does not know his place’.

And neither do we. And that upsets them no end.

Nothing enrages the subservient like ambition in others.
