Organisational indiscipline remains a concern

949

Yesterday’s win at Fir Park was huge for Celtic’s season but we should caution against talk of a corner being turned.  The team possessed the resilience (and Irish magician) to come from behind and beat the team who were second in the league, but we have been here before.

The Motherwell goal will cause Neil Lennon particular concern.  After losing a goal to an early corner kick against Rennes on Thursday, it seems impossible to believe that the team switched off at another corner kick, but only Beram Kayal was alert to the threat of Motherwell taking a short corner, and he was already covering a threat.

Organisational discipline is as important as having better players to the outcome of many football games.

  1. Evening all.

Help required from Hoops based in Ireland.

I’ve been offered flight, hotel and ticket for the huns match on the 28th Dec due to a bhoy getting an unexpected invite to a wedding ..woo hoo said I ….. BUT

EasyJet are looking an extra £159 to change his name to mine on the booking form and to meet the difference in fares!!

£159 feckin quid?!?!? I’m only looking to fly from Belfast to Glasgow(45mins) NOT Spain – no way am I paying them robbing barstewards that! Plan A out the window.

    So now to plan B:

Does anyone know if any of the clubs from Ireland are running an overnight trip to this match, via coach/ferry? I only need travel as I’ve a hotel and ticket already.

I’ve tried a few clubs that my mates or I would normally travel with but unfortunately they all seem to be doing the day trip option only

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I’ll check in later after my weekly Irish class.

    Go raibh míle maith agaibh

Keep on about referee standards, avoid any hint of why they are poor, only that they are and not improving is NOT an option.

My last post was a conversation with Sean, above, did’nt realise he was the same wee Sean who phones up radio stations to give his unbiased (ahem) opinion on all things Celtic.

Sean call me scum and adds 1690 for good measure and then asks me out for a drink to discuss things. I politely declined and said I don’t drink with bigots. He gives me the impression that he does’nt socialise with Rangers supporters never mind drink with them, we have them on our side too, nutters.

Well Sean, honestly, son, we have got them on our side too, mentalists who can never ever celebrate the good things in football, can never compliment the other side, usually sides that have players who are vastly inferior but make up the difference with organisation and hard work.

Rather than phone up and compliment a piece of exquisite skill from McCourt you phone up about the referee and the physical play of Motherwell.

Did you hear the German guy after you, I think he called you and the fundementalists correctly.

I think you are mean spirited, paranoid, mentally deficient and bigotted.

If this is to be my last post, so be it, if you are the representation of the Celtic mindset, then I am better out of it.

  11. keevins now saying celtic do the same in europe if we are up against a better team – i think he has a point, we do get in amongst the opposing team – the difference is HUGH , we get booked or sent off if our tackles are a) persistent b) illegal – this did not happen at fir park, IDIOT

  12. Clown1690

Celtic were kicked off the park yesterday.

    The referee was absolutely shocking.

If you listened to my call properly you will have heard I pointed out that the referee was poor for

    both teams.

The standard of refereeing in this country is disgraceful.

Do you only have selective hearing?

By the way, the offer of a pint, and I will pay, still stands.

  13. Bada…..

    It’s always a possibility………..

I could only catch glimpses of the Big Brammer as the missus was quizing me on the finer points of Aramaic Philosophy and her body language demanded 100% eye contact.

    Define ‘magnificent’ btw, in detail….slowly.

  14. A referee has a duty of care to protect the players from foul play, and use his cards to support this through the laws of the game.Richmond did not do this either through incompetence or otherwise……..

Man looks up on a yellow sky

And the rain turns to rust in his eye

Rumours of their health are lies

    Oh the Rangers are dying

Their clothes are dirty shade of blue

And their ancient shoes worn through

They steal from me and they lie to you

    Oh the Rangers are dying

Still they sing their sectarian songs

And they keep their “traditions” strong

And they sticks their flags where they ill belong

    But the Rangers are dying

You’re asking what makes me sigh now

What it is makes me shudder so

    Well

I just freeze in the wind

And I’m numb from the pummelling of the snow

That falls from high in yellow skies

Where the time stained flag of the Union flies

Where the homes are warm and the mothers sigh

Where comedians laugh and babies cry

“Journalists” are dignified and everyone is civilised

    Oh Rangers!

    Evening has fallen

    The swans are singing

The last of Sunday’s bells is ringing

The wind in the trees is sighing

    And the Rangers are dying…

I have been in that conundrum many times my friend – when I travel I usually have a ticket and a place to stay – so the clubs arent making any money out of you.

So its fairly difficult to get on one unless you either have friends who do the organising or touch lucky.

There are a few options – firstly consider booking flights from Edinburgh – its only an hour away and buses are very cheap and regular.

Second is do a sail and rail – book through Stena Lines website.

Third – and I have had to do this – when all else is lost; turn up at the docks and just walk from bus to bus to bus until you get lucky. I got on by sitting on the ’53rd’ seat (next to the bus driver) in the knowledge if they did a head to head count and counted 1 more than the 52 I was getting off.

Was the best option I had – I was lucky on 3 counts really although il not say on here the 3rd (Hamiltontim you know – I shared half your seat at Hampden for MON’s last game against Dundee Utd!!!)

what is your honest opinion of the ‘physical nature’ of motherwell’s play yesterday?

    serious question.

  18. Speirs has lost it. Says he is flabbergasted. Now involved in a Bobo/Lassley comparison. The guy is over-rated. And the tragedy is that he believes his own advance publicity.

panda hands; Ulsterbus run a daily service to Buchanan St station at 7-15am returning the next day at 11-40am. It costs about 35 quid

    They are certainly at something.

I suppose it means they don`t need to talk about HMRC or an alleged sectarian breach of the peace offence.

  21. I CAN’T BELIEVE IT

Turned up at CP for game.

Turnstiles tickets are for are closed. So they’ve opened 1 turnstile to override tickets for closed turnstile. 4 turnstiles with no queues. 1 turn style with a queue going down Kerrydale St.

  22. Snake Plissken on

So basically it is ok to kick hell out of good players in Scotland but the rules say otherwise.

This is why Scottish football will never EVER get better.

We praise thuggery in this league and are not interested in fostering skill.

In England that would have been stopped promptly.
