Other Scottish clubs would be better off if Celtic Park and Ibrox didn’t exist

1234

There comes a time during any endeavour when you have to ask, is this worth all the hassle?  News revealed by Phil MacGiollabhain last week and swiftly picked up by the newspapers today that an SFA executive has had his life threatened for what some regard as holding a firm line on application of the game’s rules, are one of these occasions.

This is sport, it is not the struggle against apartheid.  It really, really, isn’t worth putting your life on the line for.

The SFA executive who received the threat has not been named but he will hopefully find a degree of fortitude in the face of such intimidation.  We have called for resignations from the SFA but not under these circumstances.  If the recipient of the threat continues to work as normal they should be commended for their bravery.

It is becoming increasingly difficult to put football back on solid ground but whatever our game looks like in future, it must take on a different face.  Ordinary football fans want their sport back, a sport where honesty and endeavour can be rewarded by success on the field.

That will have consequences for us.  Celtic are far too powerful for any other club in Scotland to genuinely compete.  35 of our 41 clubs figured out they can do without Rangers and 34 of them know they can do without Celtic too.

They should remind Sevco rules are there for a reason and tell Celtic to stop mumbling about finding another league to play in and go do something about it.  I could not be more convinced that every other club in Scotland would be better off if Celtic Park and Ibrox didn’t exist.

Question is, do the rest of the clubs have the balls to do something about it?  Is the ‘Arab Spring in Scottish football’ over, or does it still have another chapter?

It is not an act of charity as he would be doing me the favour. As long as he supports positively on match day and is a negative moaning bassa on CQN when Lenny doesn´t get what he needs. ;-)

Change your mind let me know. I hope he is reading CQN right now !!! :-))

  7. Philvis, yer always good for a smile. If it’s no’ ancient Greece it’s modren claptrap. Part time politicians, is it? I think you are a bit of a Thatcherite/Majorist… How would wee Norrie have managed to spend so much money bailing out the pundit when arch-capitalist George Soros decided we were a diddly country? His boss woulda said, “Keep easing the windows, fatty.”

We need politicians on minimum wages. Watch the poor get better-off then. Of course, your typical right-wing nonsense attracts innocent passers-by… We need Captains of Industry, they cry! What about the bankers? Do we want them?

On another topic, Awe Naw!, ye don’t need a pc. You could phone up or go in. That’s what I did…

Why not just advertise it plainly on the official web site ???

  10. You have to laugh at the Sevco fans.

They honestly believe that having been granted a SFA license the Dual Contracts investigation wont be carried out.

If oldco Rangers are guilty they will be punished in accordance with the rules that have been broken.

That punishment could include the stripping of honours.

Rules and sporting integrity. What’s so hard to understand?

The Sevco fans self denial is truly breathtaking at times but very funny nonetheless.

Yes but its a waste of time going, follow a German team that`s the future.

  12. Something’s been bothering me in the ‘is lennie great ?’ question. Personally, I think he is. MON had money, but what is getting me is – what if MON had the current scouting structure? . Is lennie just reaping the benefits of an effective new strategy which MON didn’t have . As a counter to this, he has got consistency out of Sammi, the best form out of Broon , Commons back on track, good performances out of Glen(da)and season changing form from FF.

    me confused

  13. I thought Ian Black stated, before the SPL and SFL votes, his signing for sevco would be dependent on which division they were admitted?

Well they’re playing in the lowest, so he’s signed. Maybe I misinterpreted, maybe he didn’t want to sign if they were admitted any higher.

  14. Can someone explain to me:

    1. How Sevco can afford SPL wages while they face being in D3, have sold 400 odd season books and may not even be allowed to play in the league anyway?

    2. Why in the name of God would players who could get a game in the SPL want to sign for Sevco?

It gets smellier and smellier. It smells like poop to me.

  15. Awe naw, don’t disagree, but the prices did change, and I wasn’t really surprised, would you be?

Could not agree more! Comparing the Derry Pele to Andrea Pirlo, a player who I have watched and admired at close quarters (usually on TV!) over the last few years is, I’m sorry to say, laughable! Love Paddy to bits, but he just does not have the commitment to rise to that level! I’m sure he will stay with us this season, but how many games will he play and how decisive will he be?!

As an aside, did you know that Pirlo’s father is a multi-millionaire (not quite a billionaire like Craig Whyte!) who has a successful business? As a kid he was fitba’ daft but his father would’nt allow him to try and pursue a career as a pro, wanting to groom him to run the family business! When Andrea came along and showed talent, his father supported him 100%! We’ve all seen the results!

    HH!!

Thanks…..but I don`t get the German bit (I have only just logged on)?

Another question: Is the Aberdeen game DEFINITELY a 12.45 KO (Arrangements to make).

The fact that we didn´t even advertise the increase in child ST´s yes from that respect.

I think the club has done really well at keeping the price fixed for a few years now and have always congratulated them on it. So with the huns dying yes I am kind of surprised that the child ST was targeted rather than youse millionaires ;-)

surprisingly one or 2 of them still have me friended, but i lost a lot of them the day they liquidated.

    i parodied the famous commentator:

listed ex rangers players and managers “your lads took a hell of a beating” infact your deed.

to which i got abuse about being a vile biggot, and de-friended.

from them, i took it as a compliment ;)

still say hi in the street when im back mind.
