Other Scottish clubs would be better off if Celtic Park and Ibrox didn’t exist

1234

There comes a time during any endeavour when you have to ask, is this worth all the hassle?  News revealed by Phil MacGiollabhain last week and swiftly picked up by the newspapers today that an SFA executive has had his life threatened for what some regard as holding a firm line on application of the game’s rules, are one of these occasions.

This is sport, it is not the struggle against apartheid.  It really, really, isn’t worth putting your life on the line for.

The SFA executive who received the threat has not been named but he will hopefully find a degree of fortitude in the face of such intimidation.  We have called for resignations from the SFA but not under these circumstances.  If the recipient of the threat continues to work as normal they should be commended for their bravery.

It is becoming increasingly difficult to put football back on solid ground but whatever our game looks like in future, it must take on a different face.  Ordinary football fans want their sport back, a sport where honesty and endeavour can be rewarded by success on the field.

That will have consequences for us.  Celtic are far too powerful for any other club in Scotland to genuinely compete.  35 of our 41 clubs figured out they can do without Rangers and 34 of them know they can do without Celtic too.

They should remind Sevco rules are there for a reason and tell Celtic to stop mumbling about finding another league to play in and go do something about it.  I could not be more convinced that every other club in Scotland would be better off if Celtic Park and Ibrox didn’t exist.

Question is, do the rest of the clubs have the balls to do something about it?  Is the ‘Arab Spring in Scottish football’ over, or does it still have another chapter?

    Life in Amsterdam

    On Sunday out in Amsterdam,

Kyle woke up not being able to

feel his legs and as the day

    progressed was struggling to

    breathe and complained of

chest pains. We took him to

    the airport medical wing where

    they quickly informed us he

would be flying home. Kyle is

    anaemic and has had bone

    marrow transplants previously,

and is now sitting on a life

    support machine unable to

    breathe by himself. Currently he

    isnt responding to medication

    but everyone is confident he

    will win this fight.

Many people are trying to raise

I remember when I was a bhoy in the 50’s and early 60’s when pre season games consisted of the “A” team (the recognised first eleven) versus the “B” team, (the recognised reserves.)

These games attracted huge crowds and both teams got stuck in!

However, there is too much at stake next week for anyone to get injured in a friendly.

We will recieve loads of unpunished assaults when the real games start.

    Especially in the SPL.

WGS is in such a strage place ! and I rated him but he hasn’t entered my celtic romantic heart (old debate I know). Punching far above his weight hasn’t registered in the same way as the failed Seville crusade.

To WGS a great Celtic manager !

WGS actually spent quite a few quid on players during his time at CP

he actually signed 40 players vs MON who signed 15 players

as for cutting the wage bill, i recall that the wage bill when WGS left was higher than when MON left

Livibhoy posted from Howden Park that contrctions had started, but were slow.

He suggested it could be another long day for him and his good lady.

However, a poster said he would get down to the park with some beer, to help pass the time!

If anyone is at all interested and intends to vote, then please Vote for ROGER.

His fellow finalists competing for the role of Jesus are formidable and he’ll need as many votes as possible. He is genuinely spiritual and he’s as graciously elegant as he appears. He sang at my late sister’s funeral and is a great friend of the funeral mass co-celebrant, my cousin Fr. Anthony.

    Dawn French, Loves Him too.

Vote for Roger, fellow Tim and future Jesus…Please.

    It’s so complicated

I really resent BTM’s managerial time at CP but you could argue he picked up a mess left by WGS. Who could ever forget the last day of the last WGS’ season with the jambos* fans lording it over us- ‘Where’s your famous’ atmosphere (before GB got us going) and their glee when the correct news of the hun’s goals came in. We were absolutely dire, tired and useless. Did BTM pay for that knackered squad ? maybe it’s just taken the board a couple of years to fine tune their strategy.

Hope to see you on the other side.

As this machine’s still working, albeit slowly, I’m considering having a different CQN identity on each. Don’t think that anyone’s ever done that before?
