Our duty to develop Holm

134

Odin Holm (21) was the player to miss out on the Champions League squad, announced yesterday.  Last season he came on in defeats at Feyenoord and Atletico Madrid.  A red card in Rotterdam, Celtic’s second of the night, is a symbol of the player’s first season in Scotland.

The last 12 months have largely been a write-off for Odin due to illness.  Despite missing out on Europe, he made brief substitute appearances in the first three league games of the season.

Even through his travails last season, we saw enough to know there is potential in Odin.  It is Celtic’s duty to develop that potential.  Once we are past the international breaks, the fixture schedule ahead is packed.  Playing in a supposedly weak league should provide ample opportunity to rest those playing in the Champions League while developing the likes of Odin.

My apologies, there is a fault with the advert generator today.  We’re on it.

    Morning, all.

I see the problem with the adverts is still plaguing CQN. Hope it’s resolved soon.

I use my PC and my browser is Firefox with two extensions. One is DuckDucko and the other is Badger. I get NO adds at all.

  2. Celtic defender had ‘good’ overall performance for Scotland

Despite his first-half trip in the box being penalised and allowing Poland to head into the break two-up, Ralston wasn’t slated across the board by national media for his display.

The Bhoys star also contributed an assist on the night, superbly cutting back a low pass for Scott McTominay to finish.

He was given a seven rating by The Herald, who said: “Did himself no harm with a good performance. Unfortunately for him, was at fault for Poland’s penalty. He was a yard off the pace as he clumsily came through the back of his opponent. He recovered well with a brilliant cutback for Scotland’s equaliser. For the most part he was sharp, got stuck in, was willing to play forward and not always take the safe route.”

it was interesting P67 actually commented on the adverts issue yesterday.

thats the first time i have ever seen him admit that he has an advert strategy on here to rake in cash despite all the comments in the last couple of years about all the hassle they cause. he has previously just blanked those complaints.

  4. When is the Celtic Board going to address on match days the hundreds of supporters standing outside in all kinds of weather, may I suggest with 100 + million pounds in the bank, extend the Superstore and the Pools office on to a new huge Cafe Restaurant/Bar etc,any other suggestions boys.

  5. Former English FA managing director Adrian Bevington has outlined the key requirements for the next Rangers CEO.

“What I would say, is whoever the chief executive is going to be for Rangers has got to be someone who can show real leadership, is a good communicator, got to have a real understanding of the game and the industry, knowledge of the transfer market.

They have got to be commercially strong to increase the revenues but ultimately I think they have got to have football industry nous and a real common sense and the ability to work relationships.

“If you have got all of that you’ve got a chance but it is still a very demanding, difficult job for whoever that person may be.

Rangers should be able to attract someone who has that stature and the ability to lead from the front but also have a real good understanding of how the industry works and a great network of contacts and relationships with people right throughout the game in Scotland but also at UEFA, the European Club Association.”

There are people within Celtic who have those relationships already and Rangers should be expecting similar.”

He could be giving a very accurate description of Peter Lawwell
