Despite their mid-season status, KR Reykjavik should offer little genuine challenge to Celtic’s squad of Champions League experienced professionals. Still, the nerves tingle a little seeing a new management team lead the squad out of Glasgow Airport this morning.
Hopefully we have six qualifying games ahead. Where we sit right now, chances of qualification are high, but far from assured. There is a lot of work ahead.
It will be fantastic to see Martin O’Neill back at Celtic Park to lead Ireland against Scotland in the nations’ Euro 2016 qualifier. Seeing the traditional away side of the stadium covered in green, while Scotland fans occupy the bulk of the stadium, will provide an interesting photo opportunity. Apart from the ‘doe a dear’ lot, it’s likely to be a wall-to wall Celtic fan event. Good to see Roy Keane back too. In the away dug-out.
Hosting Scotland-England a few days later will cement the stadium’s position as a major event venue after a year of unique opportunities.
One of Adidas’ World Cup sponsor properties was to name and present Player and Goalkeeper of the Tournament. What could go wrong? Dragging the Adidas-sponsored and clearly embarrassed Lionel Messi up the stairs to receive his award looked contrived. Despite reaching the final and, at last, building a World Cup goals tally worthy of comment (5 across 3 tournaments), Leo wasn’t even Argentina’s best player.
These awards are subjective, so there are no right or wrong decisions, but this one brought Adidas derision.
Delighted for Germany. The demographics are moving against European football but the continental game has never been as strong.
Many thanks to everyone who bid on the auction or bought a raffle ticket for the signed canvasses last week. The raffle raised £604 and was won by CQN legend, Kolnbhoy. Funds from both canvasses are going to Glasgow the Caring City and The Cookie Jar Foundation.

Train from Bellshill or Carfin takes about an hour to Haymarket.
There is one around 5:30 which stops at every lamppost.
There is an express which leaves Bellshill at 6:19 which arrives at Haymarket an hour later, giving you 40 minutes to get to Murrayfield.
There is an 11pm back which only misses Breich. Too dreich?

I’ve tweeted and asked if they’re running a bus and if they have spaces. If they get back to me I’ll post it on here.
Jamesgang,
He started by telling me he goes to Edinburgh for a haircut, usually getting train in Dunblane or BoA as parking free, cost £14 though, so last week took car to park and ride, then Tram into City, reckons total cost of under £10, but transfer is superb, and get to see so much of the site, you would usually miss.
Me I said, oh I could do that for footie next week :-)
Daughter works in Edinburgh, so would be 2 cars over there though
Hail Hail
Poor fare on CQN this evening
Just in but off oot
Mulgrew missed the first game of the season due to a red card received for a handball on the line preventing an Ajax goal.
Normal practice in pre season matches is that only red cards for violent conduct are ever enforced by the home association.
The SFA deemed Charlie Mulgrews offence to be serious enough to merit a domestic ban. A decision that was completely at odds with what would normally occur.
Charlie Mulgrew was therefore suspended for Flag day at Celtic Park that season.
For a Handball.
In a pre season friendly.

Hope to be at game and planning to be there with Jnr. May make meeting for a pint a challenge!
Used the tram this evening to get from the airport to Edin park station. Agree it makes much simpler.
But thought it a bit cheeky that they seem to charge more to those getting on there compared to other parts of the route? If so, ‘welcome to Scotland, where’s yer dough mr and mrs traveller!’
Edinburgh eh?!? Sorry Mike and Tom!

Just repeating that your Mum, and all your family are in our thoughts and prayers,
Now to give you something else to get you occupied, what’s your team for tomorrow ?
Your Mum would still expect you to have an opinion on this :-)
WeeFra,
Sincere condolences with the loss of the Greatest person in your Life.
Faith is incredible, utterly incredible.
Braw,
I’m not sure who you have lost, apologies, Mum or Dad, You will know that the Greatest tag fits both in this scenario.
I just love the Braw patter, it is some of the finest, IMO.

Thanks for that my good friend. It was a very interesting day. One thing I found out, do not arrange a funeral for a weekend day. Starting price>>>>> £6000+. Couldn’t get ma head round that one. Anyhoo, we will be celebrating ma wee mums life, and she had a great one. We are so lucky to have had her so long.

Commons and/or Stokes for a hat trick. :-)
May also be time to consider blooding Henderson in the “heat” of battle in Reykjavic in the absence of Broony.

My Dear Macjay…..
I See Your Antipodean Friend…
Was Trying To Tell You That Britain Was A Harsher Colonial Power…..
Than Imperial Germany..?
Good Grief..!
Considering Germany Only Unified In 1871….
Their Subsequent Colonial History Is Very Problematic……
Our Pal Is Clearly Unaware Of The Massacres Of The Native Herero And Nama Peoples…..
In The German Colony Of South-West Africa In 1906-7…
Which Is Considered The First Genocide Of The 20th Century…..
And Their Concentration Camps….
Administered By Hermann Goering’s GrandPa….
German Rule Of Tanganika….
Was Infinitely Harsher…….
Than That In Adjacent British Colonies..
But Don’t Let That Discourage Our ‘Kick Britain’ Brigade…..
Keep Telling It Like It Is..!

Been looking for an opportunity to tip my lid to you.
You`re the only guy on here,I think, who has had the cojones to speak about the peril we all face at the hands of Islamic jihadists.
Inevitably you are called a religious bigot or a racist for your pains.
Now you and I don`t always agree and isn`t that bloody healthy.
Cheers.

I’m pretty sure there’s another bus leaves from Hamilton and I may have a number somewhere for a guy who helps run it. I’ll try and find it.
