Our redoubtable former manager

1226

No one on Celtic Quick News ever doubted Gordon Strachan, did they?

It’s been a long 8 years since that dark week but our former manager demonstrated enormous resilience to win three consecutive league titles and twice qualify for the knockout stages of the Champions League.  He is perfect for the Scotland role, although, to be frank, I didn’t think his squad had last night’s result in them.  Well done to all.

We have a special Father’s Day offer for the Willie Wallace book.  Order between now and Thursday morning and we’ll include a Father’s Day card, complete with your own message. See the big graphic to the right..

You can choose from two cards, see explanation and choices here, one with Tony Watt after scoring against some Spanish lot, the other with Billy McNeill receiving some trophy or other.

Click on the button below, enter the text you would like to appear in the middle of the card, and Tony will post your book off in time for Father’s Day.

  1. On the issue of the questionable UEFA licence this has the potential in view of Regans leaked e mail to be a game changer.

However Celtic will face the same issue as msm journos in terms of admissablity.

That item is just over 24 hours old and I suspect Celtic will be seeking both legal advice and asking Regan for an explanation.

What the SFA could have done and can still do is Measure Two at this link

    http://www.celticunderground.net/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=856:in-whom-do-we-trust&catid=47:season-2011-2012&Itemid=83

and it will not be an easy one to sidedstep because shareholders will not be put off by the admissability of the evidence and if they get organised in time could table a motion for the AGM.

The thing about this particular issue is that UEFA also knew there were questions about the licencing and it might be Celtic are caught between a rock (shareholders) and a hard place (UEFA) just at a time when they seek their cooperation to jump leagues.

Sometimes we can get too close to the action to see a bigger picture and whether we get out of Scottish football or The Rangers disappear has the same effect on us with greater growth possible from leaving.

You appear to be inventing conversations between us. You list a load of gripes like I’m responsible for them in some way.

All I did was ask you a reasonable question – and you come back with War & Peace FFS.

Like I said before – forget it. Go and rant at the mirror.

How can we trust those that run the game themselves are not in need of cleansing.

All I can summise from this recent sad sorry tale is that the revelations we have been recently gorging on is but a typical day to day, week to week, year to year reflection of what goes on in general world football.

I was at Pollock today aswell to see a couple of my bhoys team players

    Whats not to like

We will be putting in 99 winners next season : > )

I really don’t think George Galloway would shirk the responsibility if he was made aware of it.

  6. What is the Stars on

Last year before they went into admin and then into liquidation this forum was alive with furious malcontents frothing at the mouth because Celtic were silent

This silence can only mean one thing that DD and PL and the rest of the masonic cabal that control Celtic are actively trying to save der Hun

Utter nonsense of course and now conveniently forgotten by the bonkers brigade who swore it was true and threatened to never pass through parkhead gates again.

Now because Celtic havent commented on the (as yet ) un proven “evidence” of corruption being released by an anonymous cyber person on twitter it can only prove once again that the people who run Celtic (yes the masonic cabal of DD and PL et al) are actively trying to save der new hun

    Bonkers me lads

    Bonkers

  7. myboysnowatim on

    Aw Naw,

They won the third division despite Celtic representation to the SFA, UEFA, or whoever a protest/case could be made too, ie not being allowed to do so.

Celtic do not govern the game, we are but a participant in it. I for one do not want us to be seen as our provincial games decision masters. Leave that to the huns or their remnants.

I never read it that way.

You need to stop and think about the discussion, this should be beyond personalities.

I thought it was a good answer. Far from a rant

Our plc needs to stop the “are you looking at me in the mirror” and go looking for a fight they have avoided for 60 years

  9. Catching up after a few days offline.

Astounded at some of the news coming out today, although not surprised.

I believe we are seeing why Celtic PLC have not commented throughout.

Lets hope our leaders are dealing with this in a way to bring elimination of that mob.

    Hail Hail

Glad to hear that you (and Celticrollercoaster) enjoyed the day. This was the first year that we had girls and disability football and the whole weekend seemed to go really well

We are also hoping that some Dutch, Swedish and Czech teams along next year to increase our foreign visitors next year (even though arranging the accommodation is hard work!)

the club is really blooming now and the number of players we are providing to professional teams is now increasing – Andy Robertson (who signed for Dundee Utd last week from Queens Park started with us, as did Jack Kirwan who is rumoured to be close to be working with the Celtic first team squad)

Anyway, away for a lie down and to put some cream on my burnt nose!

  15. stein…,

You know well there was no inventions, we have had very similar conversations over the years, most of which have ended the same way, you refuse to consider any of my points and try to keep it at a personal abuse level.

I never have a point and I’m always at fault.

There was nothing in my previous post that implicated you are in anyway responsible it is very clear where i think responsibility lies, yet you chose to make that interpretation and have another go at a personal level, honestly if you disagree with my points why do you never address the actual points, why does it always have to come down to personality ?

What was reasonable about your ridiculous suggestion ?

Meet the board, aye lets just arrange to meet the people who have sold us down the river and let them explain why it’s ok for them to pick up their wages and neglect their legal responsibilities, it won’t be like listening to a politician honest, away and bile yer heed.

Are you a paid representative of the board ?

The last time I asked a board member a question I was lied to, that’s why I won’t waste my time again.

  16. Would it be a good idea to get one or two of our most eloquent posters to write a concise account of the events and send them to George Galloway.?

Georgie Bhoy would get publicity and writes in MSM , thus bringing it to the masses

  17. The first question George Galloway would ask about this whole thing is “how can I gain from this?”

  18. What is the Stars

With respect, the evidence has been out there for some time, that they should never have received a licence for the CL due to the wee tax bill.

FRAUD mi amigo, money that was rightfully ours.

    So maybes no bonkers.

    HH

  19. What is the stars your attempt tow dehumanise those who you disagree with is lamentable.

You appear to condone the media silence on an absolute wealth of information which effectively confirms the size of the conspiracy undertaken within scottish football. It also shows clear links between green and white and effectively invalidates the Hun license.

So should we all just pretend its not happening (well the rest of Scotland appears to be doing that)?

  20. myboysnowatim on

    I am a shareholder too.

As regards to world football, IMHO the whole thing stinks. From the top down. All that is being ignored speaks volumes.

  21. TET – given that money is so tight in Scottish football I would have said the one thing that might bring the board to action is being deliberately defrauded of millions of pounds.

  22. Weeminger

    My undying gratitude!

But seriously George prides himself on fighting the establishment, highlighting injustice and corruption.

He despises the unacceptable face of capitalism .

Would have thought this be right up his street

  23. WITS

You just don’t get it …

SFA are a corrupt cabal hell bent on protecting the Hun ( in which ever guise they appear) ….dodgy licences , dodgy deals etc etc ….

CFC just take part … They should be at the fore front of a campaign to rid Scottish football of this corrupt self serving organisation

Instead we just take part …

  24. Wits,

    Plc board responsibilities ?

Should they be actively protecting all their share holders interests ? Or just some ?

Do they have any legal responsibilities, really, any you can think of ?

Or just taking the money ?

Try any one of those questions, just one, go on

Prove the frothing at the mouth is unjustified

See if you can choose a point and stick to it without the personal abuse, I dare you

  25. What is the Stars on

    TET

They are now dead despite all the efforts of their friends in SFA

The new club wont last much longer

I have no problem with accepting that there was large scale fraud conducted by the now dead club

What I have a huge problem with its malcontents who look for every opportunity they can to blame the Celtic board for problems that they didnt create.

    Neganon

I think people who accuse the Celtic board of being in cahoots with the SFA/Rangers because they are silent on the current issues are mad/bonkers/silly/not right in the head

  26. weeminger

Not quite sure what you are saying….are you saying they were within their rights to get a licence ?

Cos Auldheid has proven otherwise, and the latest stuff from Lotte has confirmed what has been said in the past.
