Our redoubtable former manager

No one on Celtic Quick News ever doubted Gordon Strachan, did they?

It’s been a long 8 years since that dark week but our former manager demonstrated enormous resilience to win three consecutive league titles and twice qualify for the knockout stages of the Champions League.  He is perfect for the Scotland role, although, to be frank, I didn’t think his squad had last night’s result in them.  Well done to all.

We have a special Father’s Day offer for the Willie Wallace book.  Order between now and Thursday morning and we’ll include a Father’s Day card, complete with your own message. See the big graphic to the right..

You can choose from two cards, see explanation and choices here, one with Tony Watt after scoring against some Spanish lot, the other with Billy McNeill receiving some trophy or other.

Click on the button below, enter the text you would like to appear in the middle of the card, and Tony will post your book off in time for Father’s Day.

Did you enjoy the latest CQN Magazine?  Good one, isn’t it?

“I predict the hun will be back in the top flight in just over a year, South African money flung at them for the challenge.

“To many folks have the funny penny in their pocket in scottyland for it to be any different.”

That will definitely not happen. Sevco will not be fast-tracked into the top flight.

Corrupt King will eventually take control at the War Chest Warehouse, but that is at least 18 months down the line and a third club are likely to be in place by that stage.

With you all the way on that one.

The Celtic support as a group have done little or nothing. This, however, should not be taken as blanket criticism of the best supporters of the best club in the world.

I think we have now reached the point of no return.

Time for EVERY Celtic supporter – wherever they may be – to unite, and say – ‘Enough is enough!’

    Count me in!

  8. 67heaven

If the huns lose the UTT appeal, it means nothing, the sfa have already had their LNS thing, no titles will be stripped.

As for BDO, they will do nothing either, you seem to be pining all your hopes on them, not going to happen mi amigo.

We know where we are, and that is in a rancid anti Irish/Catholic country, a country where are not welcome.

  9. In these days of “Internet bampottery,” how far have we come in these last three years.

I know we all feel the need for instant answers to our questions but where were we three years ago?

Rangers winning the SPL and Craig Whyte the saviour.

Now Whyte has gone Green has gone. They are in Div 2 with East Fife as a serious threat.

No accounts no European football for at least three years. Second highest wage bill in Scottish football to win Div 3.

Overspending and run by criminals and Spivs.

Meanwhile CL last 16 beating Barca and a double.

Who would have thought ? If our Dads and Grandads were alive today to see what we have seen, they would rejoice.

Out of the dark days of the past a candle has always burnt bright. That is OUR Celtic.

    Hail Hail

Where is Mark Daly? Frightened off, or frying other fish?

Probably the best question so far.

We know that most of the MSM don’t WANT to know ( & we know WHY ).

YOU ALONE have given the impression of attempting to tell the truth in this fiasco,

There is now enough information in the public domain to blow this story wide open.

What are YOU doing with it ?

  11. unionbearBhind on

according to his web page M Dalyhe says he is woking in new things nowadays ( a possibly wrongly convicted murder case)

I reckon its up to us bampots but because the msm is firmly mixed up with the sfa/spl/sevco then we need to club to speak out and raise the profile

probably, looking for others to raise the profile of this situation is not on

its up to us, the celtic family

we are the only people who might have the appetite and the stomach for the fight

the consequences if we don’t are that a rangers3 will emerge with sfa/spl collusion and they will be back

the theory about us having 50 million in the bank by then means we need to beat the likes of barca every season, and I wouldn’t like to have to count on that alone

  13. theBHOYfromU.N.C.L.E on

I’ve been ready for this since the day I was born………..time for organised and concerted action to get rid of the SFA cabal……..the corruption, lying, cheating, collusion.

This will be our only opportunity…………..the prospect of thems coming back angrier and more bitter than before fills me with dread, this will happen if we don’t act NOW.

Surely Paul who runs this site has the clout to get things up and running , inclination ??

    hen1rik…………………..I know, I know

  14. The Comfortable Collective on

I love how the huns are adopting the ‘head in the sand’ approach to their new club Sevco, the same way they did with their ex club rangers.

In October (I think) 2012 the Mark Daly programme was aired on bbc scotland.

Afterwards, the hun hoards were all “This is a disgrace, who does he think he is investigating Craig Whyte, highlighting all this stuff that whyte has done in the past. Lets march on the BBC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

Fast forward to March/ April and Craig Whyte and all his spivery and dodgy dealings come out.

Cue the hun hoards “This is a disgrace, why did no one do any due dilligence on this guy and let us know what he was like. How could some one with such a dodgy past be allowed to do this at rangers. Lets march on the SFA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

    Plus ca change.

  15. So is there anyway we can get someone bar supporters on fansites to be looking into the whole Deidco/SFA shenanigans?

Surley there must be some production company or journalist somewhere in the UK, or if not Europe, who would be willing to investigate. It doesn’t even seem as though they have to do much digging, the facts are already there on this site and others where someone has already done the hard work.

Why would no-one be interested in running with this? Surely it would have a great audience in Scotland at least, and a reasonable audience further afield? Are we blowing this into something bigger than it is? I don’t think so.

Again, as RTC found previously, the silence of the media becomes an issue as large and as mind-bogglingly infuriating as the fiasco at Ibrox/Hampden.

So can supporters of Scottish clubs take the SFA to court for favouritism or some other charge? Do we have a solicitor willing to stand up?

Is there not even a media student wanting to make a name for themselves by producing a youtube video on it all? Grade A’s all the way here I would have thought.

Has there been any more talk of the Wiliiam Hills boycott (sp?).

Arrrrrggghhh!!!!! * goes to drown frustration in wine*

    union bear

we now need to be organised

they msm, the sfa, the spl need to hear our voice

    we know what they did

but we also know that Ogilvie and co have the brass neck to try to ride it out

they have no shame, even in the face of overwhelming evidence

as a minimum we should boycott all Scottish cup and league cup games, home and away, as a start until something is done

  17. Folks, I dont believe for 1 minute that Celtic plc/FC are interested in doing anything or saying anything about the corruption within Scottish football, to do so would jepordise the SFA european endorsement, I was someone who respected Gordon Strachan, his comments the other day about sevco are sickening, the game is a bogey and exists for one club in whatever shape or form it is in.

  18. I'm Neil Lennon (tamrabam) on

its a shame that we lost “The Lawyer” last year

I completely understand what you are saying.

The difference between us, you & myself, & guys like Mark Daly, is that THEY have a platform.

    We don’t.

It is incumbent on guys like Mark Daly & his colleagues to get the story, which is already being openly reported on blogs, into the public domain.

I DISAGREE that Celtic should go public at this point in time.

They are obeying the old Republican mantra,…’Whatever you say,..say NOTHING’.

They are not going to muddy the waters by taking the pressure off the spivs & thieves.

    It is not Celtic’s job.

It is the job of the supposedly truth-seeking press.

Why don’t they do it ?

  24. We have to press on with a strategy that is not tagged with the Old Firm.

Our club is better off without them and our chances of moving to another league is increased.

The doubt is that Sky if they did want us in the EPL would want the Old Firm games.

They need to be educated and can be after nights like CP at the Barca match.

    They love it.

They rarely praise the old Huns in Europe.

    They know.

I hope other leagues in Europe will grow and we can join.

  25. masty is neil lennon on

I admire that you put your actions into words, but we need somewere else other than hampdump to send e-mails to..they will do exactly what the msm have done, marked as read and deleted…

    dessybhoy 19:53 on 8 June, 2013

I think that’s a bit harsh on Gordon Strachan.

He is obviously someone who does not spend much, if any, time on t’internet judging by previous quotes.

So, like many other people he relies on the msm for his news – and we all know they have continually ignored these scandals, and in some cases are implicit in the corruption.

  27. I'm Neil Lennon (tamrabam) on

    googy bhoy

a fair point to start with

why don’t we ask him to explain if he feels his actions and behaviour favoured any one club, (because after all he claims to work for all the clubs)

but I still feel that all the other clubs should be asking him this question too, including celtic

  28. The Scottish fitba pyramid

    The fans

  29. Paul67, I think the board in general and Peter Lawell in particular are doing a fine job.

However, I cannot believe the latest stuff from Charlotte comes as a surprise to them.

I really feel inaction on our part is tantamount to collusion in the biggest scandal in British football history.

We need to confront this publicly, and soon.,.

a lot of good points tonight and definitely a feeling of unity that we cant just get bored with this and lie down like good little croppy bhoys should

this is the 21st century and those days have gone forever.

the compliant press and collisional fitba authorities need to hear our call

for me it starts with a boycott of the 2 cup tournaments home and away

the time for a sfa clearout is now.

if they are allowed to survive this scandal they will be untouchable forever
