AUSTON TRUSTY has issued a rallying call to Celtic with seven games of the Premiership season still to play.
The champions are five points behind leaders Hearts and two adrift of Danny Rohl’s Ibrox outfit.
The Hoops have experienced a turbulent campaign that has seen three managers in charge – Brendan Rodgers, Wilfried Nancy and Martin O’Neill, in two interim periods – as the team have stumbled through a painful term.
Celtic have now lost eight league games – one more than the two previous campaigns – and are in jeopardy of failing to lift their fifth successive crown.

HEAVEN HELP US…Auston Trusty appears to be seeking devine intervention.
Rodgers lost two back-to-back outings at Dundee and Hearts in October before his abrupt departure. O’Neill answered the call to step up before Nancy arrived the kick-start his disastrous 33 days in Glasgow with four league defeats to the Tynecastle side, Dundee United, Motherwell and Rangers – among his six losses in eight outings.
O’Neill has suffered reverses against Hibs and the Tannadice club and will take his players back to Tayside when the league restarts with a match against Dundee at Dens Park a week tomorrow.
Former Parkhead goal hero Chris Sutton is among the number of observers who have written off the champions’ chances of title success in this chaotic campaign, as CQN reported earlier today.
However, a defiant Trusty refuses to accept all is doom and gloom.

HANDS UP…Auston Trusty still believes Celtic can win the title.
The centre-back, currently in the USA with the international squad as they prepare for the World Cup Finals, said: “It’s really our trophy to take.
“Yes, we’ve had a lot of ups and downs this year, but I think if it was years before, the trophy would be ours and we’d be in really good standing.
“But, obviously, we’ve kind of made it difficult on ourselves this year — we gave other people a chance to make a run for themselves, so now we’re playing catch up.”
Trusty, speaking to local media the Inquirer, added: “When someone new comes in, negativity sells.
“If Celtic or the big guys or aren’t doing so well, [a team]like Hearts could possibly win the league. People like that story a little better.”
