THE clock is ticking on Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s chances of signing for Celtic – and playing in Europe.
Martin O’Neill has already admitted he has had talks with the former Arsenal, Liverpool and England midfielder who is without a club since leaving Besiktas in late August.
Oxlade-Chamberlain, 32, is edging closer to a dramatic move to the champions, according to a report in The Herald.

GLASGOW BELONGS TO ME…Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain celebrates scoring for England in the 2-2 draw against Scotland at Hampden in June 2017.
The 35 times-capped experienced performer has until nine o’clock this evening to complete the deal to be allowed to play in the Europa League knock-out stages with the Hoops due to face VfB Stuttgart this month.
Apparently, discussions between the player, who has been training at his former London club to maintain fitness levels, and Celtic have progressed, with an agreement “moving closer”.
O’Neill’s men are scheduled for their first leg against the Bundesliga club at Parkhead a fortnight tonight with the return game in Germany the following week.
Oxlade-Chamberlain would become the Hoops’ sixth winter recruit, following the deadline day captures of Joel Mvuka, Junior Adamu and Benjamin Arthur after the earlier loan arrivals of Julian Araujo and Tomas Cvancara.
