PADDY’S PLAYING CATCH-UP

1

PADDY ROBERTS is working on his match fitness as plays catch-up with his Celtic team-mates.

The winger has not played a full game since the Hoops’ Scottish Cup Final triumph over Aberdeen at Hampden in May.

Roberts went through a pre-season with Manchester City, but has not been involved in much game.

Boss Brendan Rodgers said: “His last 90 minutes was the Hampden game. It seems ages ago now.

“But May 27 was the last time he played 90 minutes. However, he looks fit and he has played in some games over the course of pre-season.

“He’s had a real good couple of weeks working and then we’ll just stagger him into his game-time.”

Meanwhile, the Hoops manager has decisions to make on his squad for tonight’s game against Hamilton after the international games.

He said: “They are all back now.

“When you consider the flights of the likes of Tom Rogic, Crissie Gamboa – he only arrived back early hours of the morning – and Oli N’tcham.

“So everyone is back in, but we obviously have to assess what risk there is, these guys having played over the international period and the travelling they have done.”
