‘PADDY’S SKILLS JUST BLOW ME AWAY,’ BROONY

1

SCOTT BROWN admits he has been blown away by the ball-playing skills of Paddy Roberts.

The Celtic skipper had a close-up view of the winger’s ability during his original 18 months on loan from Manchester City.

Now the 20-year-old Hoops fans’ favourite has agreed another season-long deal at the champions as Brendan Rodgers plans another assault on the silverware at home and abroad.

And the arrival of the touchline ace has been applauded and acclaimed by the Scotland international midfielder.

Brown said: “Patrick will definitely strengthen our squad. We know what he brings.

“He brings that excitement and, when teams are camped in as St Johnstone were at the weekend, he can beat a man standing still with his body movement.

“The ball moves a couple of yards and he puts one in the top corner. That brings a lot of quality.”

Roberts knocked back offers from France and Spain as well as the Premiership’s Southampton to return to the east end of Glasgow.

He is poised to mark his second homecoming by returning to the squad for the Premier League meeting at Hamilton a week on Friday night.

A warm welcome awaits the new Number Seven.
