PALMA SEALS GREEK SWITCH

LUIS PALMA has joined Olympiacos on a loan-to-buy deal until the end of the season.

The Honduran international winger has made only two starts this term after falling behind South Korean Yang Hyun-jun in the pecking order with Daizen Maeda the first pick.

With the dramatic return of Filipe Jota in the switch that saw Japanese striker Kyogo Furuhashi move to struggling French club Rennes, Palma is now surplus to requirements and a transfer is the solution for all parties.

THUMBS UP…Luis Palma arrives in Greece to complete his switch to Olympiacos.

The flamboyant touchline ace has travelled to Greece and will finalise the contract this weekend.

Palma was a £3.5million recruit from Aris Thessaloniki 18 months ago and netted 10 goals and added 10 assists in his debut campaign.

However, he has failed to impress this time around and, subject to a medical, the move will get the green light.

Brendan Rodgers, speaking to Celtic TV, confirmed: “I would expect that to go through.”

The Hoops are likely to recoup the fee they paid for the forward if the deal is made permanent.
