While captain Scott Brown will return to first team action this week, with the league encounter with Aberdeen out of the way, Brendan Rodgers will almost certainly continue to rest players ahead of the teams next meeting in the Scottish Cup Final.
Getting it right for Hampden is only one aspect the manager will be concerned about. Celtic’s first Champions League qualification round starts eight weeks tomorrow, between now and then the entire squad has to get their annual rest period and a significant portion of preseason. Several will also be on international duty four weeks from now.
While you and I want to see out the league programme undefeated, it is more important players are rested for the various cup finals which take place between now and the end of August. The Partick Thistle game on Thursday doesn’t register on what is important.

Paul67 best of luck with Sunday! If your training has gone well and you have upped your long runs to 20 miles (or just north of 20 miles) you will do fine.
I looked on it as a 20 mile run with 10K at the end (I’d only ran 22 miles before my first marathon) and got on OK. The only downside I think is possibly getting caught up in the hype and going off too fast. Keep you pace and race plan exactly as you intend to and you will thoroughly enjoy it!

He didn’t do anything that I haven’t seen Scott Brown or Lenny or a number of other Celtic players do before. If it’s one of us, it’s laughed off, as it should be. Football supporters in general can give it out but can’t take it.
Now Tonev should never have been charged by the SFA, as you say it was one man’s word against another, but that doesn’t mean he didn’t do it. I tend to believe Logan, as I would believe Sinclair in similar circumstances, people don’t tend to make up these accusations. On the balance of probabilities I think he probably did racially abuse him, but that shouldn’t be enough for a conviction. The subsequent booing of Logan since the Tonev incident is at best distasteful. I wouldn’t be surprised if he harbours a grudge. Perfectly understandable imo.
The most disappointing thing on Friday night was that BT felt the need to turn down the audio of the songs coming from our support on at least 2 occasions. In the world’s eyes we are as bad as the huns. That’s utterly humiliating. The day will come when Brendan Rodgers is asked about these songs and tasked with speaking out against them. That will be a sad day, and the humiliation will be complete.

The truth is the only people who truly know what transpired between Logan and Tonev is the 2 individuals themselves.
For Tonev to be found guilty “on the balance of probability” is completely unjust imo.
There simply was no proof to convict him yet convicted he was. An unbelievable decision and a very dangerous precedent although to be blunt it is doubtful if it could have happened to anyone other than a Celtic player imo.
I seen enough of Logan’s antics to now seriously question his integrity.

That is indeed very disappointing. As a rule I enjoy BT’s coverage of games, and I would prefer that they didn’t try to detract from my enjoyment by muting the sound like this.
I must confess I hadn’t noticed that the volume had been reduced, perhaps I was distracted by watching the silky, skillful football on display.
Do you happen to know which songs were involved? I only ask so that I can refer to them when I write to complain.

I very much doubt Logan is dumb enough to think he can just walk up to a ref, tell him he was racially abused, and expect Tonev to be sent off. He may have wished to highlight it so it’s on the record. I also don’t think cameras can be expected to pick up every conversation between every player. They didn’t prove Tonev’s guilt, nor did they clear him.
There are many instances where false rape accusations have been made by women against men. But the percentages of false allegations are low. It often comes down to a woman’s word against a man’s. I would tend to believe a woman in these instances, but that doesn’t mean the man should be convicted. In most cases the only two people who know the truth are the alleged victim and the accused.
The only two people who know if Logan was abused by Tonev are the alleged victim and the accused. I tend to believe Logan as the percentage of false allegations is low. That doesn’t mean they don’t happen, and I already said I don’t believe Tonev should have been convicted. However, I find it deeply troubling that so many people are willing to dismiss the accusation due to the football jersey the accused wore.

Secondly, I think you’ll find most rape convictions are down to evidence of rape/assualt on the females.
