CELTIC: Sinisalo, Donovan, Carter-Vickers, Scales, Tierney, McGregor, Hatate, Nygren, Yang, Iheanacho, Tounekti.

Subs: Schmeichel, Balkwisha, McCowan, Engels, Bernardo, Saracchi, Maeda, Murray, Forrest

  2. Some mild changes today.

I’d like to have seen more changes in midfield, esp Bernardo and Engels

Brendan doesn’t always make best use of squad

  3. Top of the morning to all from a steamy Texas – cooling off next weekend.

Mon the hoops – hope Kelechi scores a couple.

    Interesting Yang starts over Balikwisha.

  5. I had a dream on Friday that I was watching Celtic – don’t know who we were playing – and they won 5-0 with Denis Law scoring two, including a header from his own half.

So, for those of you who like a punt, you’re welcome!

  6. I’m with Hoople – placing a tenner on 5-0, Law top scorer (the header from his own half seems a bit unrealistic, though….)

  7. Aff oot to watch a big telly in a pub

Jobs to do today,go to work Celtic

    For us and each other,

Hail Hail to all the Celts watchin globally

Why did the huns get to play yesterday when their home Europa fixture is on Thursday and we’re playing today and away on Wednesday?

  9. Think Luke and Paolo could/should have been given a start today. Both need game time and both should be more than good enough to play against Thistle.

Yang? I have not seen him play one good game when he has started. As a sub he occasionally does well.

  10. With that match day squad looks like we’ve parked any ideas of being a club with a development model for the rest of the season. Brendan’s ego trumps everything clearly, more flat track bullying.

It will get lost in the afterglow of beating Partick Thistle of course.

It was interesting to read the Brighton coach’s explanation of Matt O’Rileys late move to Marseille:

“Yeah, I would say exactly that’s the reason why we could do this,” said Hurzeler in his pre-Bournemouth press conference.

“All these decisions, they are club decisions and we do them together. It’s not only a decision from my side or from Tony [Bloom], we have a very open exchange.

“We always try to figure out what is the best for the club, what is the best for the team, what is the best for the individual player.

“We had a big number, we had a big squad, so we had to make sure that we keep everyone happy. We have give everyone the right chance and the right possibility to be on the pitch.

“Because if they’re not playing, if they’re not on the pitch, if we can’t give them enough attention. We can’t develop them, and that’s the way from this club, we need to develop these young players, because they all have the potential.

“We have to get the potential out of them, and you only get the potential out of them if you give them time, if you put a lot of effort into them.

“If the squad is too big you can’t do this in a very individualised way, and that’s why we had to make decisions, decisions we did together.

“They might seem to be tough, but I think they were the best for the club.”

Brighton have a squad of 31 players so already much bigger than ours.

Surely we have some say? Two teams competing in the same European competition – one gets 4 days rest and the other gets 2, one of which will be used for travel!!

My main concern with today’s team selection is that BR mifgt be trying out his intended starting 11 on Wednesday . It should get us over the line today but Wednesday will be a different matter .

  13. Good luck Celtic, be in the hat for the draw, plenty looking in to criticise the Manager and the team.

  14. Let me get this straight……

Peter Lawwell as CEO was instrumental in creating the new standing section, the North Curve, and helped facilitate (for the most part) The Green Brigade…..

    Green Brigade reaction today…..”Lawwell Out”

    Its a funny ol’ game

  15. Nygren fortunate to keep his spot for me. This match seemed a good opportunity to get Balickwisha motoring but Yang it is.
