That confirmed what I thought when watching – Iheanacho is pretty useful.
Auldheid, reading back on last night this comment caught my eye – it’s probably just me, but I saw/heard hardly any mention of the role Iheanacho played yesterday. On at least half a dozen times he controlled a ‘long’ ball out of defence, held it up then played in an advancing player. His lay-off to Seb for his goal was actually perfectly done (direction, pace of the ball).
Hopefully, going forward, this will give us more of an option to miss out the congested midfield at times and give our opponents a dilemma in how they set up.

maybe they thought it was better to hamper our promising players playing football on what was already a difficult pitch to play on…..

Same goes for Brendan Rodgers on a lot more.
He should start by starting to work together with the club instead of pushing his own personal agenda:

Tounekti, who has signed a five-year deal, revealed other clubs were interested before he completed his move in the final moments of a “hectic” final day of the summer transfer window.
“I had a big respect for Hammarby,” he told CeltsAreHere. “Hammarby, they didn’t want to sell. That, of course, I understand. In their position, they were fighting for Europa and for the title,” he said.
“So, I really understood that Hammarby didn’t want to sell, but I had good chats with the coach and I expressed my feelings about a move to Celtic. I felt like I was being heard. Big respect to Hammarby to make it happen.”
Hammarby went out of the conference league on 14 August
The lesson is clear, if you want players that other clubs are after and their club doesnt want to sell sometimes you need to wait.
If I was Brendan, and he really is staying for next Summer he should look at why he failed this time round and stop blaming the board for everything. £42m spent on players last season and next to no contribution from them in the playoffs. Think ahead, develop what you’ve got, sign players from clubs who want to come from clubs who’ll sell early in the window
Theres a pretty strong possibility that Brendan is telling porkies here. Is that allowed or will it get buried under a load of stuff about Peter Lawwell and Michael Nicholson about how much they get paid
Or maybe a fight with Barry Ferguson?

Team shape etc is already apart from the lack of legs in midfield in the starting line up and the number of touches from the centre halves , Scales by far the biggest culprit.
Our record in the bigger recently has been very poor , 50/50 with the Hun at Hampden just based on recent performances.

I think we’re being misled. The main reasons we went out of the champions league:
Kyogos record priced replacement was so bad this season he got subbed at half time in the home leg and started the away leg on the bench.
Kuhns near record price signing replacement and our best attacking talent in the last few years was injured
Our record signing attacking midfield started on the bench in both games.
Our manager can’t find a way to score in three games against Kairat and the worst Huns team for 42 years. He can’t get the best out of our expensive players, he’s not developing anyone to come through and replace the outgoing stars, like we’ve always done.
Not that we didn’t sign a guy who didn’t score in 4 conference league qualifiers for Hammarby and has scored for us against Partick Thistle and whos club were never going to sell him to us in time to play in the play offs.
