    I think the Prem Sports commentators spoke about our finances and the protests for a combined total of 20 mins out of 90 today.

     

    It’s the whole of Scottish football we’re playing every week.

     

     

    Scales excellent again.

    Hatate needs to get his completed passes stats up.

    I got tedious laxalt. It was like they saw Celtic play well and had to try and turn it down a notch. Another reason I’ll smile on flag day

    Yep, I thought the commentary was appalling.

     

     

    Just ask yourself this: do you think the SMSM has the best interests at heart? Do they really care the transfer window was so poor and we have a load of cash in the bank?

     

     

    I would argue they care not a jot about any of this but are delighted to highlight and stoke division.

     

     

    Shortie were talking about a “pressure game” for the board on Wednesday night.

     

     

    They can’t wait for us to be beaten or drop points. Gives them a chance to pour fuel on the fire.

    Red Star are going for 10-in-row titles and have won first 7 league games. Can’t imagine we would be favourites even if we had signed a couple of better players.

    spend their lives following celtic

     

    often have been doing so for generations

     

    spend a significant part of their income on celtic

    A far bigger indictment of the Scottish media is the complete lack of anyone challenging the basic narrative thats being pushed. It won’t make them popular, you only had to look at the reaction to Graham Speirs piece this week but surely you’d expect some balance.

     

     

    Michael Stewart said something really stupid today – “see what Celtic could have got if they’d have got Tounekti in for the qualifiers”. Tounekti said himself that Hammarsby told him they were keeping him as they needed him for the title race thats coming to its conclusion, he had to beg them and they finally agreed at the very end of the window

     

     

    I’d we’d have gone earlier we’d have ended up with the guy from Go Ahead Eagles we wouldnt pay the stupid fee the owner asked for after they sold their other star Antman to the Huns.

    The “Seb” who was reportedly held back by Hammarby and mentioned the phrase “they wouldn’t let me go” was winger Sebastian Tounekti, not a player named Gutierrez.

     

    During the summer 2025 transfer window, Scottish club Celtic attempted to sign Tounekti from the Swedish side Hammarby, but the deal was initially blocked. The quotes about him wanting to leave were widely reported in the Scottish media at the time.

     

    Tounekti’s transfer to Celtic

     

    Initial resistance: Tounekti was reportedly a key player for Hammarby, which was fighting for a European qualification spot, and the club did not want to sell him.

     

    Player’s wish: Tounekti made it clear to Hammarby that he wanted the move and had his “ambitions” set on joining Celtic.

     

    Final transfer: Despite the initial resistance, Hammarby eventually found a solution and the transfer was completed on the final day of the summer transfer window.

    Celtic40me….fair enough, but what could Celtic do other than winning every domestic trophy we possibly can?

    Hammarby were in conference league qualifiers until 15 August.

     

     

    I don’t mind Michael Stewart, he seems like a fairly decent minded guy and he’s a football pundit so you wouldnt expect him to think any deeper than what hes being told but surely theres someone out there who could challenge the idea that it was as simple as “getting them in early enough.”

     

     

    It used to be we didn’t back the manager, but we spent £42m last season on players who contributed nothing to our efforts against Kairat

    As I asked last night, does the home ticket scheme boycott cover games at Hampden?

     

     

    You can’t just boycott the HCTS for individual games. If you’re out, you’re out for the season. If supporters cancelled their direct debit for the EL games, there’s no way to reregister for the semi-final.

     

     

    The ballot will consist of those still in the scheme.

    A correction to cap applied to the accounts Celtic submit to SFA to obtain a UEFA licence for 2026.

     

     

    Logically the cap being applied to FSR squad ratio would be 80% relating to 24/25 accs in next licensing cycle in Jan, but the Licensors i.e. SFA will in fact apply 70%.

     

     

    It will make little difference to Celtic’s compliance in 2026 as earning are so high for 24/25 but it will make things tighter when 25/26 accs submitted, unless Celtic act to keep a safe distance from the ceiling by selling players they make a profit on to boost football earnings./reduce player wages.

     

     

    The underlying point being FSR is relevant to Celtic’s buy low sell high policy . The real issue is the recruitment process needs a total overhaul because of FSR that other wage competitors clubs understand.

     

     

    The change from normal Licensing rules suggests UEFA want the impact to bite sooner.

    Interested to read the apparent surprise at today’s commentary and every other SMSM outlet dancing with excitement about the protest rather than remarking on the brilliant football on display. When a sizable number of Celtic’s most vocal supporters have gone out of their way to disrupt and complain for more than two weeks what did we expect?

     

     

    Fuel the Celtic haters all you want. Just don’t be surprised when our enemies use that fuel to undermine the club as much as they can.

    TM – cheers. I didn’t realise the HCTS covered European tournaments, I thought it was only domestic competitions.

     

     

    I expect non-season ticket holders will step up and buy the boycotted EL tickets and those who remain in the HCTS have an increased chance in the ballot.

    Maybe Michael Stewart and the other guy were trying to convey the message that was being sent out from the fans of a club who have 90% of the resources of Scottish football, 95% of the trophies from the past 12 years, the biggest stadium in Scotland which has been sold out every year since Rangers got promoted?

     

    But….the CL qualifying almost always fails when there are no Rangers coefficient points to benefit Celtic.

     

    And they say there is no Old Firm?! lol

     

    Maybe the TV people saw what amounted to a lot of spoiled people making an arse of themselves like spoiled children chucking their paper aeroplanes onto the pitch because beautiful Brendan was made to look like a mug by Kiarat Almaty, and Russell Martin.

     

    But of course, when it comes to Brendan spilling his milk its not nice to give him the Neil Lennon treatment, so it must have been the boards fault?! lol

     

    Oh and, did you see how sly Brendan stood with the fans with one of his Fu Man Chu faces on, smiling through his tripping face, because, sly Brendan knows that if he is the fans pal, and then loses to Russell Martin in the LCSF, then the triggered fans will blame the board!
