After a couple of days away from the computer I caught up with the Ben Nevis Huddle photographs, magnificent achievement to everyone involved. Our 1254125 project is in good hands. I’d no idea there would be snow at the top of the mountain in June.
Have you bought your ticket for the Lions Roar event at the Kerrydale Suite on Friday evening. It will be a great opportunity to watch the Lisbon game in the company of the Lions and enjoy a Question and Answer session afterwards. There will also be a chance to get your picture taken, so get along.
Accurate news broke today that Celtic are in the market for a central defender. We are not short of cover in this area of the team but no one has made an irrefutable claim for a place to partner Kelvin Wilson.
As we have often said, successful defending can only be done by a unit, not an individual, but unsuccessful defending by be achieved by anyone. As ever, let’s hope Neil gets his first choice.
If you are still to renew your season ticket sign up for 1254125 at the same time – it’s every bit as important a part of being a Celtic fan as watching football. If you’ve already renewed, get back and register.
You can buy Willie Wallace’ autobiography below:

Hail hail
Morning CQN
wish I was more well read in order to follow these conversations. Don’t get me wrong, It’s not that I don’t actually read, but I must admit that I am starting to feel the Racing Post and Readers Wives are short changing me and leave me feeling a fool.
On fools;
Jock Stein quote;
TV Presenter : ‘Scott Symon, Rangers manager, what do you think the score will be in the Old Firm match’
Symon : I think 2-0 to Rangers
TV Presenter : ‘And you Mr Stein what will the Old Firm score be?’
Big Jock : ‘Only a fool would try to predict the score in an Old Firm game’

“Celtic fans Firhill stand ban ”
Reason given is fears that flare carrying supporters could set fire to the wooden structure.
OTT headline if you ask me , could have been covered ( if it had to be at all ) by saying Celtic supporters would be given the North Stand for these games.
Typical MSM coverage of a story involving Celtic.
Good morning CQN,
I just love the irony in the fact the G8 countries are meeting at the bankrupt Lough Erne complex.
I saw Bruce year in the RDS and I was stone cold sober as I’d left the tickets in the hotel room and lost the drinking time retrieving them, all the jostling would have been much more tolerable with a few pints.
Have a good time all who are going to see him, you’ll be guaranteed a show at the very least.
A personal favourite…

Did anyone hear what the Hearts folks said on Good Morning Scotland?
FGF – I was in that old wooden stand with some other CQNers for a pre-season friendly a couple of years ago.
It’s a potential death trap and they shouldn’t be allowed a license to open it for any games.
The Green Brigade let off some flares/smoke bombs in the stand behind the goal and the Jags are clearly uptight about it.

BT – we’re usually quite flexible and use the previous thread, although why we should when you consider some of the drivel usually posted on the main article…?! ;-)

I don’t have a problem with PT , they had to make this decision to get a safety certificate . It’s the way the MSM report these matters that annoys me , if it needed reporting at all .
Do you think it would have been reported this way if it was any other team?

Morning,
Police stepping up their agenda against Celtic fans.,I am going to write to my MSP and ask all major events in Glasgow be reviewed as police admitting their officers are unable to conduct crowd control and stop illegal items being taken in to venues.
PARTICK THISTLE are to ban Celtic supporters
from their historic main stand over police
fears that flare-carrying fans could burn the
wooden structure to the ground.
Trouble marred the Glasgow Cup Final at
Firhill when fans set off flares and smoke
bombs
Firhill chairman David Beattie announced the
move last night and said: “The consequences
of incendiary devices in a wooden-clad stand
are there for all to see.”
Thistle took the controversial decision to
ensure they received a Safety Certificate for
the ground ahead of their return to Scotland’s
top flight next season.
Fears over flares had prompted authorities to
review the matter and the decision has now
been taken to give Celtic fans the North Stand.
The agreement comes just weeks after trouble
marred the Glasgow Cup Final at Firhill when
fans set off flares and smoke bombs.
Beattie added: “The Police Football
Intelligence Unit raised concerns as to the
increased use of flares by sections of some
away support, citing a number of incidents
that have taken place over the last season.
“This, along with our own experiences of flares
at Firhill over the last couple of seasons,
meant it is something we have to seriously
consider.”
A Jags ‘singing section’ was situated in the
North Stand last season, but the group will
have to be moved when Celtic travel across
Glasgow to accommodate the Hoops fans.
Beattie said: “At the club’s Operations Board
Meeting, it was agreed that approaches would
be made to representatives from the North
Stand to keep them up to speed.
“But due to people’s commitments the original
meeting date was delayed.
“Unfortunately, events overtook that
consultation process as the timings around
the renewal of the Safety Certificate meant
that a strict segregation policy which banned
Celtic supporters from the main stand was
enforced.
“In essence, this left the club with a fait
accompli regards moving our own fans.”
While Thistle have been left with little option
but to relocate their supporters for the Celtic
clashes, the decision will infuriate Jags fans
who revelled in the North Stand last season.
The red and yellow army played their part in
Thistle’s First Division title success by roaring
Alan Archibald’s side on from the stand, but
will now have to be moved from their usual
seats for one of the biggest matches of the
campaign.
Beattie said: “We share our fans’ frustrations
that due to elements outwith our own control
we are required to move our fans from the
North Stand.
“However, we are confident that no matter
their location, the Thistle fans will provide the
players with fantastic support and again make
us proud of our wonderful fans.”
Bigjie.
I was given abuse (nothing new) by my cqn friends on FB when I put up the pic of Celtic being the only Glasgow club in Spl. Can you update please..? :-)
Good morning BT , how are you today ?
The nags to get me early retirement;
No Info for day one. Simply my fancies.
2.30 Penitent each way @66/1. Never a 66/1 shot in a million years. 2nd in a group one last year? Plain daft price.
3.05. Shea shea @5/2.
3.45. Magician @ 5/2
4.25. Championship @11/2
5.00. Lieutenant Miller @12/1 each way.
5.35 Ogermeister @7/1
FGF – that’s a given regarding the MSM, but from experience I don’t think PT should be allowed to open that section of the old stand.
If it’s that safe, then put their own fans in there!

Dutch Under-21 international Virgil van Dijk has confirmed his desire to seal a move to Celtic.
The Scottish champions are understood to have shown an interest in the FC Groningen defender, and the player is now hoping they push through with a deal.
Van Dijk had attracted interest from England, with newly promoted Cardiff City and Championship outfit Brighton both keen, however, the player seems to have his heart set on a move to Glasgow.
“Celtic is a fantastic club and a step up for me,” he told De Telegraaf.
“I now have to wait until the clubs agree.”
