Defoe would most probably score a lot of goals for us.
However his type of signing is not one that fits with our recruitment plan.
His age means he has no sell on value , and his wage would bust our wage structure.
We are looking for the next Gary Hooper , not another Robbie Keane.
That being said the euphoria that followed Keane’s signing was magic.

It has become obscene the huge amounts of money these sportsmen earn for some time, i rarely watch the big events any more, two reasons, the real fan being priced out of these events and always the concern are we watching a fair game?

Howveer, if he was willing to fit into wage structure i consider it. Defoe is a natural scorer and pairing him with a buy guy like Balde would be tasty proposition.

That’s the difference in us and another SPL side. We have money and should have top goal scoring forwards in SPL. Last few seasons we haven’t We need a bums on seat player upfront
