And I think your reference to the Knighthood is sound by me – years ago I was approached to see if I would accept a ‘local’ honour for community work that I had been involved in. Politely declined, saying that I hadn’t done anything that merited an ‘honour’, only what me and others in the community generally did because we could. I loathe and detest the s0-called honour system and the hangers-on that can’t wait to get on the gravy train.

Neither Celtic nor Sevco have frightened the SPFL teams as they have in the past. Most teams have taken points off one or the other this season. We’re now running up the hill at Cheltenham and we need to see if we have the squad stamina that they don’t have.
Tomorrow should be a straightforward 3 points but with our weakened defence, it is less straightforward. I still fancy our chances more than theirs on Sunday.
But- there’s many a twist to come yet. Looking forward to it.

I recall years ago on these pages it being written that the probability of making it to become a topclass footballer was on a par with becoming a top class neurosurgeon,not doctor,not surgeon but neurosurgery.
So it is an immense achievement to aim for,whilst at the same time growing up,experiencing life,adolescence,dips in form,poss injury,all while improving.it takes a lot,i wish him and your family supporting him

I don’t know that island but, looking it, it looks very typical of Croatian islands (there are over 1,000 of them). I often pass it if we have to drive from Split or Zadar in Dalmatia to Montizana which is our village near Porec up in Istria
I’m going to see Croatia v Portugal in the Estadio Nationale in June thereby killing two birds with the one stone, metaphorically of course.

I’ve mainly been to Croatia on sailing holidays, but some on land also and absolutely love it. Been to Split, Zadar, Dubrovnik, Sibenik and Trogir and all amazing places. Been to loads of the islands and national parks etc. Is a beautiful country.
