Hope Brendan has been watching Man City closely today from the comfy seats at the Etihad. Huddersfield have been defending deep with everyone behind the ball in the same low block we have seen time and time again. City have waltzed through them at will with quality, slick passing and sharp movement. When the ball arrives in the box they are queuing up to score. Different level of player yes but Huddersfield are far better than the likes of Dundee and St Johnstone. Put simply we need to move the ball quicker and have better movement off the ball, willing runners getting into the box and going beyond the strikers. It’s not rocket science.

Bruma missed a lot of games due to a knee injury. I think he had an operation.
He signed for Chelsea as a youngster when BR coached the reserves and Congleton was a scout. He went to Hamburg when Congleton was Technical Director there. Both BR and Congleton will know all about him.

have started watching BIG MATCH REVISTED on one of the sports channels.
Its english itv recordings from the 70’s.
its excellent for actually reminding of great players, playing in the worst conditions,
todays had willie donnachie asa hartford, eddie grey, andf a great liverpool v city game from 1977.
anyways, i wish stv would do the same up here.
i was reading about one of my favorite games, celtic 4 hearts 1, 1983 scottish cup. bud johnston sent of for hitting provan right in front of me in the jungle.
hearts were given all the coatbrig end, the main stand was full, celtic end packed , jungle rammed.
It’s a shame that this is even up for debate, but we are where we are now, and Brendan has a decision to make.
Personally, I’d be happy to never see him in the hoops again, but Brendan hasn’t phoned me yet to ask my opinion, so I’m prepared to go with what our Manager decides. I think he’s done enough since coming here to earn my respect and to make me think he knows better than I do. ?
The ONLY consideration here should be what is best for Celtic. Boyata is, our best central defender. He’s become a much better player under Brendan and his team, but still prone to an error or two ( as are defenders who have cost a lot more money and have bags more experience )
If the manager is prepared to forgive him, and his team-mates are willing to have him in the team, then our pride needs to be put aside for the good of the team, and he should be supported as a member of the team.
But he should be moved on at the earliest opportunity. No offer of an extended contract.
Hello agaIn, as some of you may know I am not a big fan of the EPL. However looking at Chelsea, Arsenal and Citeh in the last 24 hours they looked very tasty. I know Citeh are a class apart at the moment but both Chelsea and Arsenal look like they will play open, attacking football.
What also scared me is that either of them could be Europa League opponents for us and to be honest they would dismantle our team at the moment. Our current role in European football is to provide a nice bit of theatre at Celtic Park on some occasions and then leave the stage to the favoured sons of the UEFA game riggers.
Quite a sad state of affairs but just how it appears to me.
Centre halves – Lindelof playing for Man United, €35m. Absolutely atrocious.

Bailly is shite as well, then throw in Jones and Smalling, crazy amount of fees and wages

I watched some of today’s game as an indicator of improvement by “Rangers” over last season where it will matter, not v us ,but v the rest.
Over the 4 games Killie were away to both Celtic and Rangers 3 times . We dropped 7pts and Rangers dropped 8pts. We won one game v Kille before Clarke arrived . Rangers won one game after Clarke arrived. What that does say is KIllie were a very good side post Clarke.
Over the 3 games post Clarke arrival we dropped 7 pts from 9, Rangers dropped 6.
A 3 -1 win at Kille who are only Malubu (sp) short of last season, suggests this is where “Rangers” will make progress to reducing the comfortable points differential.
Taking yesterday as an example of how comfort affects performance, it was only when it became uncomfortable that Celtic played like they can ,but the message is Louden clear.
There will be no comfortable games at all for Celtic v anyone never mind 5-1 humpings of Rangers, and we had better get used to it and Celtic had better ensure the necessary extra gear is in place if we want some comfort.
We as a support will need to realise that we are now back where we started in 2011 and have no idea how “Rangers” were able to fund a team that will challenge our domestic dominance.
Perhaps being fair minded in Scottish football is a curse. We never expect our rivals will actually cheat and will play by the rules.
Its not just in recruitment that we have been complacent.

He made 4 league appearances last season , as opposed to 20 the season before.
So I will ask the same question I asked on here when we signed Commper.
Who has scouted the player in a live match?
How many matches was he watched in ?
At what level of football were these matches played ?
How recently did these matches take place?
Answers on a postcard to.
Whathaveyoudoneformelatelycsc.
Offcourse we may not have any interest in the player at all.
But I would ask the same questions of all of our signings.
