Payback for Turnbull Hutton

735

You all think you’re so smart, smugly laughing at the outcome of a game in a tournament you didn’t even know existed until recently.  Let me tell you, yesterday’s defeat of Newco Rangers was nothing short of calamitous for the road I hoped the club would take.

Ally McCoist is crucial to all the things I hope happens to Newco in the years to come.  He alone can deliver the hilarity waiting for when his team face full time footballers every week.  Who else could spend so much yet produce so little?  Who else would have the sheer brass neck to demand such a salary, even if partially deferred, in order to endorse the spivs as suitable recipients of season ticket money?  This guy is unique and of immeasurable value.

Yesterday’s defeat fundamentally weakens his position.  What now when, in true Rangers tradition, he stands in front of this year’s AGM thanking ‘yous’ for being the cream in his doughnut?  Will they still cheer at being patronised like applauding seals completely lacking in self-awareness?

Mark my words, anything which undermines McCoist is unwelcome.  A Ramsden’s Cup win would allow him to claim as much credit as he could waddle off with and would have upset no one.  They had a party at Ibrox planned, like it was 1975 all over again.  The humiliation must be significant.

The way forward for Newco Rangers is to put pressure on their board to release badly needed funds for the manager to spend in the hope of winning promotion from the Championship next season.

A word for Raith Rovers and their chairman Turnbull Hutton.  It was a Raith Rovers director who sat across the table from one of the Rangers clubs (I’ve lost track) to judge their failure to dispense their tax and other duties during season 2011-12.  McCoist then publicly demanded to know the names of the panel members.

It was Raith’s Starks Park ground which needed 24 hour security after receiving a threat to burn it to the ground following McCoist’s outburst.  Turnbull Hutton stood firm and was one of the voices which ensured the rules were applied as they stood.

Seville – The Celtic Movement

“Going into the second leg, it was all in Liverpool’s favour and on paper it was Celtic’s toughest test. That wasn’t to be the case though as Celtic achieved a very comfortable 2-0 at Anfield. Both goals were superb to top a fantastic victory. A low free kick from Alan Thompson and a wonderful strike from John Hartson were the difference in this game. Celtic went through to the semi-final 3-1 on aggregate.”

Neganon, you always strike me as someone who hopes for continued anti Irish racism and Catholicism. It exists but is very rapidly going away. You strike me as someone who couldn’t cope if it no longer existed at all.

You are absolutely spot in your summation. He goes on about the act as if it applies only to catholics. If that’s the case why do the huns detest it as well.

I don’t know were Neganon works but racism and culture have caused many wars throughout the world and continue to do so. Please let us know were your utopia is Neganon?

I still recall that second goal from BBJ with a great deal of hilarity.

With everyone jumping a lad behind me fell forward knocking me off my feet and over onto the seat in front of me. The lad beside me not realising turned round to hug me and proceeded to jump up and down hugging my shins and bouncing me up and down on the seat in front. Thankfully he realised in quick fashion and righted my now extremely dizzy body and we proceeded to jump up and down some more.

Was a great night as back at the wee local hotel the overnight barman was a big Everton fan so needless cheap beer and spirits were much in evidence.

I watched a video on u.tube of CELTIC supporters singing about NOVO. a dog of a man and a lot of our supporters bother to make up a song about him????????

our problem and I agree with AFF OUT KEV J.here is the bored.

PL said he wrote to SFA.re a CELTIC player being hauled to headquarters for a follow through in a tackle against the deid club.he wrote to SFA for clearance on how this happened.6 months later no reply.so he is saying he sent CELTIC teams out to play for 6 months and did not know the rules.SFA banned the not so HOLY GOALIE for 2 games and the cardigan asks why.next night on tv a member of SFA on to explain.message SFA are feart of the cardigan but PL being a shit bag they are not scared of him.

ok so what i’m saying is tell SFA to feck off and deal with LG in private and let it stay private.and get a new CEO with a pair.

Chris Jackoff: “The booing echoing around three sides of Easter Road was not directed at manager Ally McCoist. Anyone in the stadium will have noted this reaction was immediately followed by a Green Seat protest from the large Rangers support. A clear message that they blame Charles Green for the position the club is now in.”

  12. From Morrissey @ 19.50 last night

The above poster re-produced a list of 5potential defences for Leigh which are flawed. I think there have been a lot of repeat errors of these defences today.

    They were:-

    “Theres loadsa excuses out there.

    1. Ostrich “He didn’t do it. The video is inconclusive.”

    2. Pedant “Calling a white Czech footballer a refugee isn’t racism.” Like Eastern europeans don’t get abused like this all the time.

    3. Back in my day.. “I’ve heard people sing worse in the pub or on the terraces. Yous are aw soft” Like that was good form or something?

    4. Be same as racists. “But Andy Goram et al got away with it.”

    5. /victim mentality. “Racist papers are reporting him being racist so lets look at that instead.”

Leigh’s offences are not one-offs, even though the last two video clips came from the same source. He has also had the twitter comment about “F*** off back to your own country!” and he had the abuse of the McDonald’s worker.

There is no hypocrisy involved in my being delighted with Leigh Griffiths as a footballer, aware of the agendas of the Record and other media outlets, and, still, disgusted by the social attitudes of the player himself.

I am pleased that the consensus on Celtic sites has been in that area. Most do not want him sacked without a chance to change and most do not dismiss this as harmless banter.

There is a case to answer here and I expect my club to answer it. I hope they pitch their response in the area that most Celtic fans inhabit.

  13. justafan (12:31), you have a point. And I trust that:

    a) Hibs will be taking action to identify any supporters also shown in the video who are guilty of the same “crime” that LG is accused of, and that they will take action against those supporters commensurate with any punishment applied to LG. (If the punishment must fit the crime, then it must do so for everyone, not more so for Celtic players.)

    b) The police will also be doing likewise and effecting prosecutions as appropriate to all concerned.

    I won’t hold my breath…

Can a second division team be a wounded animal?

As far as I’m aware Sevco breezed to the Ramsdens Cup Final but not so the Scottish Cup, where they’ve had to receive considerable help to get them thus far. Raith Rovers were by far and away the superior side, and the broken down ex SPL pro’s and journeymen were strictly second best.

The longer the game went on the more Rovers realised they were playing Sevco and not the old Rangers that died, and Sevco were summed up by McCulloch (Captain) throwing himself to the ground to gain a free kick, which was duly given by the dreadful nerve ridden Timmy ref.

This week they’ll move up another league and face a much better side than the young Rovers, their only hope is Bobby Madden, and if you think they can win, watch a replay of the Ramsdens, you owe it to yourself.

Mr Beaton, the man who single-handedly got the mighty Sevco a repaly against the Rovers of Albion! (The two others are unkown to me).

So, while like most on here I think Dundee Utd. should wipe the floor/park with them, we should never, ever underestimate a MIB team like that one. Did you see Elbows in the very last minute of the game yesterday when a long ball (another one, again!!) was thrown up to the front and, knowing that he wouldn’t/couldn’t get it literally propelled himself forward, landing about three feet away from the defender. The ref took the bait and gave them a free kick right at the edge of the box (which thankfully they made use of in their usual, effective way). But, what if Elbows had managed to get into the box????
