Penalty decision, Jonjoe, Albian, The Captain

Jonjoe Kenny made it all look so simple.  Cross after cross arrived from the right with a frequency and competence we have not seen all season.    Stephen Welsh was no slouch either.  The 21-year-old central defender stuck to task, allowing the rest of the defence to concentrate on their own jobs.

The captain delivered a vintage performance for his return to the team.  Scott Brown’s form is well off his peak, but rested, he is capable of reliving former heights.   The legs may have gone but last night’s performance was a demonstration of leadership.  He could also coach a few taller players in the team above movement and attacking the ball at corner kicks.

The penalty decision was ridiculous.  Alan Power clearly took the legs from Odsonne Edouard without going anywhere near the ball.  The decision was so clear-cut, referee Kevin Clancy must have had difficulty believing his eyes that such a blatant foul happened.  Fortunately it did not affect the result.

Post-match we got an insight into some of the deeper layers of Neil Lennon’s season.  Scoring on a rare start, Albian Ajeti’s “Work ethic hasn’t been good enough. He knows that and he’s changed that now.”  Which is good.

The manager also said Olivier Ntcham “Was a bit fed up and indifferent about the Scottish game and I think he wanted a new challenge, like a few of them have maintained since the start of the season. It’s a difficult thing to claw them back in.”

Work ethic and indifference, the traumas of being young and wealthy in a global crisis.  Hmmm.

It was only Kilmarnock, who were mostly awful, but we have deservedly lost to worse teams this season.  I expect to receive fewer “will not finish second” texts, for a few days, anyway.  You know who you are!

As soon as wee Nicola allows me to visit I’ll be up

Even though you’ve gave all your wine away 😂😂

What maked you think I’m watching the huns game,All I wanted to know was who was the referee, because someone said the ref had given a yellow card instaed of a red,.see you in the Blane Valley when they open up again.

  3. Paddy Roberts comes on in 72 minute for Derby with score 0-0. Rotherham then score 3 goals.

Not carrying a great of luck, is Paddy.

In other news, Toney scores his 20th, and the season is only half over. Destined for the EPL for millions, I think.

  4. Another red card not shown cause the ref never saw it , oops silly old refs …….we really should be paying more attention…

Oh Iv’e still got around twenty or so bottles left, You can pick up the wine racks, I have three needing tobe full, they look a sad lot lying there with no wine on them.

  6. So Clancy previously and now Munro.

Clancy is given our game where is the consistency in this country when referrees are concerned?

Clancy and others can do as they please and they know this and until they are punished nothing will change.

  7. RIFC players know they can get away with anything and stay on the pitch. If the SFA hit them with a ban later so what the refs will still be there to help out in the next game. Hardly a game goes by without a red card incident being missed by hand picked refs. Never miss a penalty the other way. Our problem this season is that we have not been able to put them under pressure on or off the pitch, still Lenny’s got his Old Firm to refer to in times of need. Does anybody know if, before the SFA moved into Hampden, they shared the same premises with the Refs in the way they do now?

  8. 0 penalties against.

  13. That tackle was brutal.Shocking attempt to maim another player.

Yeh , I used to use NBCSN as it was a better picture

  19. thats the kind of tackle they get away with a) because refs do nothing about it b) other clubs don’t complain and stand up

Jack Ross said/did nothing about Morelos , Celtic do/say nothing about our players getting kicked all over the park and continuous dodgy decisions.

We are gutless and are complicit to the levels of incompetence!

  20. SCULLYBHOY on 3RD FEBRUARY 2021 10:04 PM

    That’s hunbelievable.

Both feet off the ground, only one intent, and he knows he referee is looking straight at him.

  21. blantyretim is praying for the Knox family on

    I was 18 when I suffered a tackle like that back in1985

Compound fracture , career over …

Daughter said she wouldn’t be here as I’d be in Yorkshire as I was signing for Sheff Wednesday.

every time I see tackles like that I wince

  22. Without trying too hard,I reckon sevco have accrued 18 points due to reds to opposition, non.reds for them, non pens to opposition, plus the 22 pens to settle them down.

    I.think.we have lost 2,and drawn.4 which is 14

which although not acceptable would be much closer if not for the blatant, and uncontested favouritism.

So once again possible retrospective action is effectively no impact.

Will St Johnstone complain, not a chance only guy who ever took them on was Levein.

Our silence for years has been pathetic.

  23. PeterLatchfordsBelly on

Great to see Liverpool getting pumped after all the help they’ve given the huns. Can’t stand them now.

As for us, good performance and result last night. Give Welsh the starting spot. He looks a decent prospect, but we’ll never know if we keep playing Duffer ahead of him.

My big fear coming unto this season was a lack of hunger. I didn’t believe for a minute it could be this drastic.

Footballers can be a horrible bunch, but it’s not just Celtic that has them. We had to find a way to mange the petulant little shits and failed. Add in the abysmal tactics and game management, appointment of a crony as coach, Lawwell’s love of the blue pound and it’s a bit too convenient to pin it all in the players.

Oh and btw Paul, one swallow doesn’t make a summer. Killie are rotten and could easily have scored a couple. As we have shown we struggle to pick up points against the top 6 _ and that’s most of,our remaining fixtures.

The whole season has been a disgraceful failure.

  24. No Bobby Does It Petta on

A retrospective red, no doubt. When the points are in the bag.

They’ve been at it all season.

Even Clancy and Gollum are complicit. Two supposed Tims.

  25. Can anything at all be done about the cheating. It has never been so blatant, I suppose raising it with John Paul Taylor would be pointless.

In some respects it’s just as well we were shite this year, if we were Competitive but were being robbed by this scale of cheating it would be heart breaking.

Just popped on hesgoal to see HT and slippy g Shaking hands with the St Johnstone management team.

    Wtf is that about😵😱

*ludge anfield 2215 meeting the management team fae a club named after the patron of the templars.

Too late , I’ve moaned for years (about everything) that we should make complaints when winning and strike whilst ahead , anything now just seems like sour grapes and people looking for excuses

Too little too late from PLC
