Over the years I have lost count of the number of times I asked Peter Lawwell to speak up and defend himself from ill-informed nutcases who thought him too exertive or not exertive enough. He continually refused, “What is best for Celtic?” was his repeated response. The real world is not as conspiratorial as many seem to think.
The man’s sheer intellect towered over Scottish football for 17 years. If you wanted to influence a neutral against Peter’s position, you needed your A game. Most went home to lick their wounds, many of them resentful. If you cannot outsmart him, blame his hidden hand, seems to be the excuse of choice.
The perpetrator of the fireball attack on his home in the early hours of the night will likely be caught; these types are seldom criminal masterminds. Although we know nothing about who did it, we can be sure it was a male, that he lives in an ocean of inadequacy, and that he was radicalised by those who this morning believe themselves to have clean hands. For the record, they do not. The script on the lone lunatic has not changed in 100 years, to a man, radicalised.
It is a huge mercy that no one was physically harmed. A decade on from similar attacks on Neil Lennon and his lawyer, the late Paul McBride, this could very easily have resulted in a loss of life. Peter, you will never walk alone.

Condemn the attack on Peter’s family and home – be unequivocal in doing so. Simple request. Yet, what is the response from you got from you know who?
PL frustrated me from time to time but overall he was on my Christmas Card list
our success over his 17 years is positive for our club
BUT……..
I have it in my head that BR left because he could not get a relationship with PL
I also felt the McGinn to Villa (instead of Celtic) was a disaster
Recently not getting Ivan Toney frustrated me
PL dealing in the transfer market was a risk
The point of the sentence above is to establish me a a critic of PL but an admirer of his time at Celtic
His work was not always perfect but I have not met many who have not made mistakes (Im an expert at making mistakes)
He does not deserve this ending to his time at Celtic
What happened to his family and his home is the work of an idiot who has no concept on how life works
Mr Lawwell I would love a pint to let you know where you went wrong (no doubt you would put me in my place)
But I would shake your hand for your efforts your dedication and your service to Celtic

b) It is reasonable to interpret that as meaning that if The Board had behaved differently, the event might not have happened;
c) It is then fair to claim that The Board`s actions played a causal part in the dreadful event;
d) That COULD be interpreted as the Board having brought it on themselves.
I don`t think that is what you meant but I think it is fair to say that your words could lead to that conclusion.

Yes, I do.
However, you did go on to list a series of PL actions that could, perhaps, motivate a deranged fan to commit this crime.
I agree with you that the likelihood of this being due to a disgruntled fan of the club is close to zero. There is no need to state anything beyond this, in my opinion.

It would indeed be bad news.
However, it does highlight the fragility of our position. Essentially, we have no new management team at this time.
The blind faithers may well have that faith repaid though all should acknowledge the reality of our current situation.
Any and all stories of new signings are also nonsense. Who can sign these players? Do we really believe we have a potentially incoming manager who is doing some work pro bono?
Our new CEO must look to up the pace on this one. Next season is fast approaching.

Can’t agree with you about Patterson, on the football angle. Thought he looked quite impressive against us, mind you who wouldn’t this season, and a good young inclusion in the squad.
Who says Eddie Howe is in for the job,I am totally unconvinced he is, my thoughts all along were that John Kennedy if he didnt mess up would step up, personally I think he has not impressed in the role so he cannot get it, but for people to assume its Howe I think they are hoping rather than knowing it to be the case, I want the best we can get in all positions at the club, people assume we will get a Dof anyone from Celtic plc tell anyone that this is what they intend, this Board could easily say this season was a blip , the way we worked for years was successful domestically, they are also ultra conservative and do not want change or outside analysis of what they do.
I hope we get the best we can get who is happy to be at Celtic and transform the squad first team with a modern approach to conditioning fitness diet Sports injury prevention assessment and treatment, however this plc as I stated is ultra conservative so who knows what will happen.
Im still waiting on a reply from my MSP about saturday , I think I will have a long wait

You have a constituency MSP and 7 List MSPs representing most shades of opinion.
If you don’t get the required response from one, go after the others.
You need to write to your MSP first then those on the list.

Greatestleagueintheworld finishes Sunday, already two vacancies available (CP and the relegated WBA) and maybe more.
This whole idea Howe is coming after Bournemouth fate is decided just smacks of people trying to convince themselves and to rationalise the prevailing circumstances.
Howe will have other offers to consider. There is no evidence which gives me any confidence he has committed to Celtic, and plenty of historical evidence in respect of unsuccessful Celtic transfer negotiations to suggest this will not happen.
Have I missed Douglas Ross’s comments on the events of Saturday or George Square? por cierto.

We have an inept bunch, with the only real ” heavyweight ” being Nicola Sturgeon. James Kelly is also worth a mention although he lost his seat.
