Pin it to the dressing room wall

Straight from the off on Saturday you knew this would be a more accomplished Celtic performance than our last league outing against Dundee. Brown and Bitton in central mid, with Charlie Mulgrew partnering Erik Sviatchenko in central defence.

Charlie is at the back end of his career but you know you are getting a seasoned SPL pro, who is going to clear his lines, attack the ball, and not try to be Beckenbauer (i.e. he’d rather not attempt a 20 yard pass than risk misplacing one).  I’ve liked the look of Erik since he’s arrived, our clean sheet count has improved immeasurably, but the Dane was culpable at the Thistle penalty. He was turned, then put his arm around his opponent’s waist. A nailed-on penalty which could have cost us in different circumstances.

I loved Kilmarnock striker Josh Magennis’ comments after his teams’ defeat at Pittodrie: “We can do Aberdeen a favour next week by beating Celtic, we haven’t lost in our two games against them this season.”

Pin it to the dressing room wall at Lennoxtown, Ronny.  We battered Kilmarnock last time out, creating 20 attempts but couldn’t convert, and we let them off the hook earlier in the season at Rugby Park by conceding a late penalty.  No mistakes this time.

I agree with you that Labour should have done considerably more to improve the lot of the populace at large, and came up short.

But they didn’t do nothing,as you have repeatedly suggested.

The lot of the working man improved considerably under Labour administrations.

The aspirations of the working man’s kids were vastly different from those of their parents too. And facilitated as a result.

NEGANON raises some good points about the current administration’s refusal to redistribute wealth. Calling it unionism does your intellect a disservice.

There would still have been a decent away support going IMO.

This discount just helps ensure that the team get the backing they need to secure a vital 3 points.

I also think there is a GIRUY element to Kilmarnock for their discriminatory ticket pricing.

    Just my opinion mind.

  3. The Green Man

None of us are daft or naive enough to think the reason for Celtic’s initiative is anything other than because of a lack of ticket sales. I’m still glad they’ve done it mate.

Spot on….many good Labour men over the years, and did indeed do their best for the poorest and weakest.

    Tom Johnston for one.

    Many more of course.

    Of course its welcome.

But….in general, Football is way overpriced in Scotland.

    Its not value for money.

    Between 15-20 quid seems right.

Pity they are not so pro-active when it comes to Res 12 and the Refereeing er Brotherhood.

  6. If Celtic fans buy 5000 tickets for Kilmarnock game, that means my club Celtic will be donating £30000 straight to Kilmarnock

I would far rather Celtc spent this £30000 paying a lawyer to fight the SFA and raising a legal challenge through UEFA for us resolution 12 signatories

Just a personal opinion, and I do understand the fans who will be attending the game views, but the board making an attempt to appease fans for their ( the board) lack of action defending Celtic in numerous areas

Absolutely no interest in Celtic funding Kilmarnock

    Hail Hail

  7. TGM

Ticket pricing is laughable but it’s even more galling when Killie charge every other supporter in the land only £20.

  8. Cowiebhoy

I’d much rather that the money was being put to other uses but sadly we know that won’t happen.

  9. Another thing

If the £30000 was accurate and for 5000 fans, why not put this towards reducing fans price for tickets at Celtic park

  10. How about a wee bit of a diversion…(I may regret this!!)

It’s ma mammy’s birthday, so Slàinte mhath! Sláinte! Iechyd da!

I have never told this story before; oh perhaps wee bits of some of the events have been uttered but the story in its entirety…naw it’s always been too raw.

The events in this tale occurred, and the story was written, 28 years ago, and it has been sitting there doing nothing ever since.

I’ve called it ‘Ma Mammy’, but really it’s all mammies, mums, mothers, maters and matriarchs.

While there is truth in every word , every syllable, every nuance, every keystroke, smile and tear, I have also employed a wee bit of artistic licence to evoke a secret that even the Gospels were unaware of…….

“God did not rest on the seventh day….he came up with his best idea ever.. his ultimate pièce de résistance that would forever form the ultimate bedrock of a worthwhile and humane world…Ma Mère..Ta Mère….Notre Mères”

So it’s off we go with a tale of potential doom, redemption, wolves, bears, drug dens and the land of the midnight sun….oh and a wee bit ooh la la and Celtic!

    For Mothers everywhere

No going back once I hit this enter key…..

  11. Captain beefheart yes I think we have a tendency to contribute to that special “family atmosphere” that police Scotland are so looking forward to.

But I wouldn’t say that ones as bad as the other. Far from it.

An Tearmann. That your patriotism is so blinding that you would rather pretend the issues don’t exist says more about you and your nat friends than anything I could.

  12. The Green Man says SACK THE Board on

    Its clear to me.

You could give those Killie tickets away for nothing.

But if the board wont challenge the cheating.

    Whats the point?

    Its becoming meaningless.

    Thats not football.

    Its like Wrestling….just entertainment…stage managed.

  13. Thanks for the advice earlier anout hotspots and tetheting (would you listen to me!). Not sure how I managed it but finally got online on my laptop and prepared some LMS messages ready for issue after tonights game. Although their issue will depend entirely on me being lucky with some random clicks for the 2nd time tonight. Away for a lie down now…

  14. Thanks Joe, I’m glad he is well. I’m actually getting to like him a lot, I’d definitely prefer to be sitting with him at a game rather then with any of the negatonians.

  15. Having read that Celtic are reducing prices for the Kilmarnock away game on the one hand I want to say at least it’s a step in the right direction. But it smacks of desperation.

I was out at the pub Saturday and got talking to some fellow celts. All of them have stopped going. A mixture of disgust and apathy.

Dont know if you noticed the current debate around the win at all costs attitude to football in Scotland.

Seems to be an agenda being pushed here….that defeats are ok, as long as you win the league.

Expectations are too high it seems, and us fans should just leave it all to the professionals.

In other words….we should think ourselves lucky.

In fact, we should all just stop complaining:)

  21. ANTEARMAN@7:42 – The SNP have never proposed and/or enacted any measure specific to the poorer in society in there eighty-years in existence – on the other hand the Labour Party has passed well over two hundred during their times in power since 1945.

The SNP are, have always been and will always be, TARTAN TORIES, which their 500k hard-core have been proud to proclaim – their 1million recent convert ‘sheep’ will be forced to come to their senses, but probably not any time soon – not worry Indy is stone dead – there would be many more than two million voting against the economic tripe that passed as the Referendum, had they been told the truth.

  27. Ronald Koeman is on Monday Night Football, was talking about formations, says almost everyone using 4-2-3-1 these days. Also said he likes his defence to be flexible with formations and can go to 3 at the back if required. Says if you don’t have pace and power in defence these days you are in big trouble.

  28. Today’s announcement by Celtic is a victory for the supporters associations/ affiliations who have started a campaign called Twenty’s Plenty.

The supporters were planning a full boycott of Kilmarnock for this match. That was moderated down to a protest before the match outside the stadium and no-one entering until 5 mins after kick-off. That’s been cancelled as the club listened.

Kilmarnock are charging Celtic fans too much. But we are charging away fans too much to stand in that often restricted view corner, so there’s two sides to that part of the story.

Other Celtic supporters just won’t go to Kilmarnock as they were the only club not to vote against the new club entering the top tier.

Celtic have a run of away games which started on Saturday at Firhill. The club want the two stands behind the goals full of Celtic supporters for this match to maximize our chances. The away support is MAGNIFICENT!

It was very encouraging to see on our Facebook page earlier today supporters reacting to Celtic’s decision by deciding to attend the match and making arrangements to do so.

Here’s the story of the statement from the Affiliation of Registered Celtic Supporters Clubs:
