Play our natural game

190

Three games and two defeats in and our Champions League group is already a daunting task. More so with the absence of Kieran Tierney, Kolo Toure and Jozo Simunovic, the latter of which casts a long shadow.

My hopes for tonight are limited to putting on a good performance. A result, even a draw, would be of historic proportions, but these are the games we should be facing down with increasing confidence.

Gladbach deserved their win at Celtic Park two weeks ago, but our wounds were self-inflicted on that occasion. If we’d been tighter at the back the game was within our grasp.

On these occasions I’m usually keen for Celtic to play things tight, but with chances of progression so distant, we are as well playing our natural game. Go for it, Celtic.

    BRTH,

To think that your mum and dad worked at my school.

    I’m claiming fame by association!

To have had the vision, drive and nerve to achieve what they did , when they did it, is remarkable.

    PS.

I can still picture your mum in her gym skirt in the corridor at St. Augustine’s, …and the vicious little vixens of her hockey team.#bruisedankles.

  5. Good evening friends.

I wonder how many of you have experienced a similar day to me. Waking up with the excitemt of a Champions League day, spennding most of it reasoning with fellow tims about how realistically we don’t have much of a chance and “just want a good performance” and then get to half 6, overly anxious for team news and a sudden reason to think ‘actually, I fancy our chances to sneak it tonight….maybe even by 2 clear goals to negate the head to head…

Gamboa in, Lustig to Centre Half, all else as per Aberdeen, which means Stuarty Armstrong sitting with Broonie, and Sinky and Forresty wide, Tommy behind Dembelelley.

Ha I will tell her that! She has recently moved into the St Frances Nursing Home in Govan where she is looked after brilliantly.

I don’t think he did enough on Saturday to justify his inclusion tonight. Evidently struggling for confidence.

  10. A very Ronny Deila-like formation! Why not a 4-4-2 after the German team dominated midfield in the first leg? Does wee James ever do anything in big games away from home?

    Yikes.

Feel for Oconnell who I thought would be atleast a sub tonight.

    Hail Hail

I loved your story of the Buenos Aires/Montevideo trip. You were/are a lucky guy.

Also enjoyed the mention of Joe Gallagher. What a character he was. I worked with the big man at that time and he was larger than life. Whenever he was looking for somebody at work he could be heard shouting “Are you there dummy? Are you there T-I-T.”

A funny guy who bled green and white.

I travelled with your dad’s firm. like thousands of others, to the Euro Cup Final in Milan and ended up in an hotel in Baveno with Peter Keenan, Ally McLeod, Willie McFarlane, Davie McParland and Alex Ferguson. A young guy of 20 with some top men in Scottish sport. Good fun…and all on a Provy Check!!!!

COYBIG tonight. Give it a go.

Hail Hail and Thanks to BRTH for my wee trip down memory lane.

I think you need to access it on a freeview box or TV with built freeview, its on Ch 59. My TV has freeview and Ch 59 is the BT Sport development Ch which I can access. I will be trying to view it that way.

  15. Cut to pieces with that line up on the evidence of what I saw at CP

So we’ll be starting behind the couch, for safety sake.

If we get a draw BR is a miracle worker, the best we can expect is damage limitation

a learning curve and onwards with his ‘improvements’.

    bSR,

Don’t be too harsh we have a lot to thank them for, Celtic and Scottish football have one (defunct) club to thank for the current GAP

They are responsible for our good fortune :D))))

  20. Tremendous performance on a net spend of £4 mil, when we seen the team at start of the game , probably feared the worst, 90 mins later we are disappointed not to have won against a Bundesliga side…
