Hibs home defeat to Newco on Sunday came after wins over Hearts and St Mirren, and draws at St Johnstone and Aberdeen, the latter coming when they were on top and squandered a penalty. If you are looking for a team in the top half with incentives, look no further. Hibs need at least a point to keep Hearts within touching distance before they meet for the final game of the season on Saturday.
Worse still, a win for St Mirren tonight coupled with a Hibs defeat would see Saints move into the European spot that would be created if Celtic win the Scottish Cup. For lots of reasons I would rather Hibs finished above Hearts and St Mirren, but that’s not our concern. Celtic need to get their game face back before the that cup final 10 days from now.
Alistair Johnston has long since abandoned moonboot and crutches and returned to training after three weeks out. Our Canadian right back looks the complete thoroughbred so should remain close to full fitness after a three-week hiatus. Trophy day on Saturday should be enough to fine-tune him for the cup final.
Ange Postecoglou has flipped between Yuki Kobayashi and Tomoki Iwata for the central defensive positive made available as Cameron Carter-Vickers convalesces. For my money, Iwata did better, albeit against significantly less offensive opponents (see what I did there?), but we need to park that finding.
Iwata’s height precludes him from being anything more than a last option for central defence. Yuki is the player bought for that position and with most to gain from experience alongside Carl Starfelt. What else are dead rubbers for that preparing for the future?

Cheers young fella, much appreciated. I can’t stand anything spoiling the lovely hoops. I appreciate that sponsors are necessary now.
For a few reasons, and even though Celtic are playing, number one hope for me tonight is that Dundee United beat Kilmarnock. My next `hope` is a wee bit more of a challenge to my partial mind.
I would much prefer the Dons to finish above Hearts than vice versa. For that to happen, Hearts losing tonight would be most helpful…..but Hearts are playing Newco. What is a man to do !
To all Edinburgh Tims going to the game tonight, I hope you see a convincing victory and have a fine evening.
Cheerio for now.
Who would win a fight between a Japanese dumpling and a battered Mars bar

A question that has troubled philosophers for centuries. 😂

Like you I hope Dundee United and Aberdeen do their respective thing.
Sevco going for win last four league games cup so expect them to beat Hearts tonight.
If they do, I’ve no fear Naismith will get over the disappointment quickly.
PS – who was the CHUMP (tribute to BJ there) who asked Ange the Sevco’s Silly Season question?
Anyone?
Just a thought for the Inverness game …maybe Starfelt does not need a partner at the back ?…why not play a 3-4-3 formation and push Iwata into the midfield …after all folks it’s Inverness not Real Madrid 🍀

Ina 3:4:3 where do you play the inverted full backs?

All the noise about rangers signing 2 Norwich squad players. Let’s be clear neither really stood out there in a team which finished mid table after being relegated.
BadaBing 4.33. Class :-))

Intensity:
Barcelona have just won their league.
They just got beaten by relegation threatened Valladolid. 3-1.
I hope Ange continues with his last two game physolophy.
We know what our first choice team brings to the table, but we need contingency.
These games present a perfect opportunity for change.
HH, the journey continues.

Tsk tsk,did you not listen to Ange yesterday, why would who or what they do be of interest?:-)))

Did Barca get chased of the park recently when they clinched league?

How the big Japanese centre back goes from being a well regarded prospect by many on here to being a dumpling in 1 meaningless game is odd to me.
I get the hunterloper types and the usual negative ones but it seems hysterical for a fan base whose team has just won the league and the league cup. Larsson and many others show the folly of jumping to conclusion quickly.

Fair point.
My point was they have Limited pedigree and maximum hype.

You’re welcome. Another great thing about here is that it must be the only place that you can have a 65+ season ticket at Celtic Park and still get called “young fella”. 😃
Re tonight’s line up –
Ange can’t pick this line up in a meaningful game; so now is the best time to give these guys a run out. Dead rubber game.

Given that tonight’s game isn’t (ahem) easily accessible it would really help if those who DO see it (or most of it!) decide on their 3 best performers. Please. SENCELPOTY@GMAIL.COM 😁

Do they ever alter? Polishing the t… as usual or lamenting back to a past not there or Celticrubbij-rangersbrullyint.same as usual B78.
Onto victory tonight
