Players have “no loyalty to the new club”

285

The notion that Newco is the same as Oldco took a bit of a battering yesterday from two employees of Rangers Football Club PLC, Steven Naismith and Steven Whittaker.

Naismith said, “I am extremely proud of the actions we took but I am disappointed and angry that Rangers Football Club no longer exists in its original form.”

“My loyalty is with Rangers, not with Sevco, who I don’t know anything about.

Whittaker got straight to the point, “We owe no loyalty to the new club. There is no history there for us.”

“No longer exists”, “no loyalty to the new club”, “no history there for us”.  Ouch.

Sevco chief, Charles Green responded by confirming he had received guidance from the Scottish FA on the transfer of player-employees from one club to a successor club/company.  Curiously he didn’t suggest the SFA backed his position that he was entitled to force players to become employees of Sevco, instead confirming only that there was an appeal route open to him:

“The Scottish FA has been considering the issue and has issued a preliminary guidance note on registration issues. That note has made it clear that it is open to the club to challenge the actions of the players.”

Perhaps emboldened by his precedent-making Court of Session challenge to the SFA which passed without censure from the Association, Green threatened to do so again:

“We have no wish to go to court on these matters but the players involved, their agents and clubs who may be pursuing these players should be in no doubt that we will do whatever it takes to protect the club’s interests.”

This is what happens when the SFA declines to pursue a club for raising actions in the civil courts.

Green will use the season ticket money received so far to pay the wages, as it is with the oldco and it would be impossible to prove he did once he has funding in place.

Also heard he sounded out the Fighting Fund for cash.

The total chaos which exists around our south-side neighbours- (whatever their name is) – since 14th February, is too complex for a simple mind like mine to comprehend.. It would be a interesting ,Paul, to have a summary list of all the breaches of rules and reguations they have made under the auspices of F.I.F.A.,E.U.E.F.A., S.F.A.,S.P.L.etc. Such a list could be forwarded to the relevant football authorities to remind them of the chaos this lot have caused.

Two-thirds of tickets for Olympic football matches at Hampden Park are still unsold, BBC Scotland has learned.

More than 170,000 tickets remain available for the eight Glasgow games.

London 2012 organisers are urgently considering further giveaways on top of the 30,000 that have already been handed to schools and sports clubs.

But Glasgow City Council leader Gordon Matheson said: “I believe Hampden Stadium will be full for the London Olympics football games.”

In exactly one month – on 25 July – the women’s defending Olympic champions, United States, will step into Scotland’s national football stadium to face France.

The men’s European Under-21 champions, Spain, follow them a little over 24 hours later against Japan, during five days of Olympic football in Glasgow.

But Hampden could be more than half empty, with the public being muted in its enthusiasm for the 250,000 available tickets at Hampden.

Organisers had hoped for a significant surge in sales after the Olympic flame’s hugely popular tour of Scotland.

That has so far failed to materialise and London 2012 organisers are now having to re-examine their strategy.

Mr Matheson remains optimistic the stadium will fill up in time for Britain’s major sporting event of the year.

Glasgow has Olympic flags on display ahead of the London 2012 games “I’m going to be part of that audience,” the council leader told BBC Scotland.

“I’m going to be joining the Hampden roar and there will be tens of thousands of fellow Glaswegians and Scots who will be alongside me there too.”

Is it at all possible for ourselves and other teams to serve notice of our intention to leave the SPL or SFL (whichever is applicable ) and not only form another league system but alongside other teams form another association to run it ?

I just cant see things get any better if the same association is in place. Not just because of the obvious arse of things that the current incumbents are making with respect to the present situation but because if we really are serious about a shake up in the Scottish game, we need new administrators at the helm shaping a fair and transparent future.

I think many on here are sincere about a level playing field being in operation and would be quite comfortable with other teams winning the league/cups etc. on occasion. I really cant see this happening if the status quo is allowed to continue to operate within our association.

The latest wounds are too deep now for anyone to truly believe that the powers that be will not try to service the needs and aspirations of one particular club (or its bastard child as the case may be now) and its new follow followers. These people are proving this on a weekly basis. Im not even going to go over old ground and what went before for the soon to be liquidated club.

Or are situations that autocratic in the view of UEFA that this could not be done at all ?

Surely even UEFA can see how much of a mess the SFA has made of things.

Green believes that he owns the assets of RFC(ia/l). The most valuable asset was the collective value of players on the transfer market (even with the CW clauses). The value has been put at £10M, add that to the advanced income received via Sts and Green would have a pot of approx £20-25M. The £5.5M loan now looks like good value, cobble together a squad of ‘never-weres’ and let them grub around the bottom of the SPL. At this point the Bloo Knights reappear with £20M, Green sells the club, pockets £30M and still has the £5.5M @ 8% to come in. The bloo knights have a share issue, buy better players and start to climb the SPL.

Green has reckoned without the following:

Despite assurances from the MSM and some experts (not one of Neil Patey’s finest moments!), the CVA was coalboxed.

Despite assurances from ‘insiders’ in the SFA/SPL cabal nuco will be lucky to be playing fantasy football next season as the boards of Scotland’s clubs find that supporters actually give a toss about playing in a rigged league.

Despite the cheeky chappie’s threats and posturing, the players have realised that, after wasting half a season of their careers on an ultimately empty gesture, it’s every man fur hissel’! A half decent saloon bar lawyer could drive a coach & horses through Green’s assertion that nuco employs anyone.

The ‘air of expectation’ that haunts the big hoose means that instead of a pro-active response from followers, all Green has been met with is ‘…where’s the money…’, this has lead to the likes of the cardi-huns advising follyers not to buy Sts, Green is now in the position of being under attack from within. Had he, for example, accepted the cardigans £6M, Walty would probably have sh@t a melon!

As toxic as Rangers brand is now, (EBTs, MSM, etc) it’s about to go into meltdown.

“Just how many Season Tickets have FC NewCo managed to shift? I’m hearing that it is only “a three figure number”. Less than ONE THOUSAND?”
