Strathclyde Police were Rangers first creditor to ask for a payment guarantee from Rangers’ newly appointed administrator, saying, “Strathclyde Police is a public body and has a duty to make sure public resources are used appropriately. We are seeking an urgent meeting with the administrators to ensure that any payment for policing costs at future Rangers games is guaranteed.
“Until we have such a guarantee we would not be in a position to commit public resources to policing an event unless we had a reassurance that our costs would be met.”
Before the administrator is able to allow the scheduled game against Kilmarnock on Saturday to proceed he would need to guarantee payments for all services employed and goods used, casting considerable doubt on the game proceeding. The administrator is liable for any expenses he incurs from now which cannot be paid by the club.
Funds will need to be found for turnstile and security staff, while footballers may be asked to play for free.

Been out walking the gorgeous hills in a gorgeous mood so missed the gorgeous news of the 10 point penalty imposition.
Quick question Paul: if MIH had planned to absorb any FTT penalty (c.£50m as widely assumed), why did Sir D and MIH HAVE to accept what the bank wanted, ie. the offer from Mr. Whyte. Surely they could have absorbed the £18m into MIH as they allegedly were going to do if the tax case went against them?
With all this feel good factor. i hope we keep our eye on the ball here , The old pals act of the administrator should keep us aware the help that will be offered to them . , I would also like to see paul, phil , and the rest of the clever guys on here ,do a little digging to ascertain just how much of all this was known at SFA HQ . And what sanctions they must impose on our cheating friends . The big fight is all but won , but the collaborators must be hunted down .

R@ngers described by reporter on BBC news as “this old ,famous and proud club.
Surely that should be “this old, infamous club with nothing to be proud of.
£9M of tax unpaid since Whyte took over. Never mind the Big Tax Case or even the Wee Tax Case. He must have paid little or no Income Tax, NI or VAT at all.
This is tax evasion – and he’s been caught. The police should be looking at more than just whether Saturday’s game can go ahead

Thanks, thats what I wanted to hear.
Dont think I’m ever going to lose this smile on my face!
This just gets better and better. We have all dreamed about this moment, all wished for it everyday. Our arch rivals hanging onto their existence by their dirty, stinking fingernails! I dont care how many fights or arguments I get into at work, they can sack me for all I care, nothing will stop me rubbing it in every Orcs face that Valentines Day 2012 is the day their bigotry and scummyness came crashing down!
Let them Die!

I would urge all to write to their local MSP’s on the disgrace of a sports minister shona robisons outpourings of grief for this great scottish institution.
She is hell bent on saving this great club which is what we should all be focused on she suggests…. there are 250 jobs she believes are vital to keep for our economy……not to mention the suppliers who supply the club with their ware (although they dont get paid).
She clearly thinks saving the 250 jobs is a priority rather than any kind of understanding of how WE have all been duped of nearly £100m…..
My simple maths suggest £4m per job or thereabouts…..maybe that should be the priority.
These pathetic SNP weasels in that kiddyon parliament really are worse than just a waste of space…….only the pathetic opposition gives them any credibility…..
At what point do we call back Agent Whyte? Mission impossible well and truly accomplished.

A quick question:
Now that Hearts have avoided administration by paying their tax bill do we stop calling them mini-huns…are they now just The Hun?
Hail Hail
Sorry£400k per job I meant….simple maths…..
Celtic website updated to show 14 point gap……. Let’s hear it for the Champions!
Hearts owed money for Wallace.
Dundee United and Dunfermline owed cash from gate money
I’m looking forward to the Scottish press getting excited
about the possibility of Motherwell splitting the big 2.
They could barely talk about anything else earlier in the season
Just one question for the blog
Do we automatically qualify for the Championeee’s League next year?
yorkbhoy
What big 2 is that ?

Then they will know how it feels to get a job in post establishment Scotland…
Now that he no longer has to deal with the day to day running of the huns maybe Whyte can now finally get round to suing the BBC.

Nice para in the Times tonight
As more an more supporters gathered outside Ibrox passing motorists honked their support.
However others were less sympathetic, with one driver throwing a handful of penny coins on the ground outside.
I wonder what the scrap value is of those gates now.

I find it a bit annoying that UEFA are sitting back here , and taking no interest in the goings on across the city . Yet were very quick on the ball about a bit of banner banter. wouldnt trust them either to do the right thing btw.
