POLICE PROBE HATE TWEETS

POLICE SCOTLAND have confirmed they have received  complaints regarding tweets to Leigh Griffiths.

The authorities are in the early stages of looking into the matter.

The Celtic striker, who had earlier scored his 29th goal of the season in the 2-0 Scottish Cup win over East Kilbride, posted his own statement on Sunday night in response to the original message, which is believed to have concerned his children.

He said: “I’m all for banter on Twitter, I get praise when it’s due, and criticism when it’s due, but why do people feel the need to wish bad things happen to my kids??

“I’m doing my job at the end of the day, and if people don’t like that, fine but please don’t wish things like my kids to die please, because it really does hurt.

“They don’t have anything to do with my job. I go to work, come home and be a family man. I love my 4 kids with everything I have, and what I do, I do for them.”

The culprit, who repeated the disgusting message when challenged by Griffiths, this morning tried to tweet his/her way out of trouble by offering an apology of sorts.
