Hibs are insisting they will not sell to a Championship rival. Celtic, obviously, do not come into that category as they build for their fifth successive Premiership title.Rotherham had shown interest in Allan, but withdrew after the player made it clear he wanted to remain in Scotland.
Hoops No.2 John Collins, a former Hibs player, watched Allan in the Easter Road side’s 2-1 defeat at Dumbarton on Saturday.
Parkhead boss Deila refused to rule out a move for the former Dundee United and West Brom star after his team’s 2-2 draw with Kilmarnock on Wednesday.
The Norwegian said: “I can’t tell you anything about transfers, there are so many rumours now.
“I think it’s best to say no comment and then we’ll see what will happen when we come to September 1.”
Hibs are interested in bringing Celtic midfielder Dylan McGeouch back to the capital on a permanent basis after he spent last season there on loan.
However, any deal for McGeouch, who still has a year to run on his Hoops contract, would be separate to a possible agreement for Allan.
Sorry, there are no polls available at the moment.
