Portents poor for Ideguchi

358

The portents are not good for Yosuke Ideguchi, injured again and set to be a spectator for the start of the season.

Signings don’t all work, but Ange Postecoglou saw something in him and he did enough to impress Leeds United scouts four years ago. Work permit issues meant he was loaned out on arrival at Leeds, a move which didn’t work out.

The positivity towards our manager and Japanese players is such, I think we are all prepared to give ‘Guchi as much time as her needs to get fit and show his value. Still, football moves on, others are likely to press their case ahead of him.  It is likely to be a long and uneventful season ahead for our January signing.

  1. Just watched the highlights of the France v Germany women`s game.

    Some `observations`:

    a) The Women`s game has improved tremendously;

    b) The seemingly angry reactions of some of the players after they have scored looks like they, unpleasantly, are copying their male counterparts;

    c) The female commentators ( Alex Scott apart) are even more cliched , biased and downright stupid than their male associates.

    `night all.

I recall from being in 118 many moons ago, some cup games allocated 1800, they were right up to us, so would guess 1/2 of that

may be a mythical creature, but it is also the National animal of Scotland. As weird as that sounds.

Interestingly so via coats of arms it grew from then, originally of Celtic legend.fascinating topic

At the risk of intruding into a private guessing game could Ernie be hinting at the fact that it was not an “English” army that won at Culloden – but an anti-Jacobite army of Scots and English and others who fought Scots and Irish and French? There were clans on either side and the Cumberland army was a British one.

It was a Nationalist/Religious war. Stuart v Hanoverian. Would Charlie have claimed the throne of Scotland or the throne of Britain if he had won?

  12. The Scottish Unicorn is a strange creature, it’s part Lion, deer and I think goat nothing like the wee horse with a horn that is popular now

All true for the army at Culloden. Exactly that mix.

    After

Many description of the English army . The conscripts gone home. Those sweeping the Highlands for the remaining Jacobites being from England witness accounts. Those settled in the forts all English.

I am English half myself. No preference. Just reading history.

    8-0 ?

    Just read that final score.

Shows the difference between a decent (nothing more) team that is highly focused and motivated and one that isn’t (0-1 first leg).

    …………….

CARPE DIEM……..With RESPECT, IF you plan to meet with MAD BITCH for a drink, Please do NOT invite him to do so at ANY of CQN Beer session as, we who attend on a REGULAR BASIS, are VERY FUSSY about who we drink with ?

If you wish to meet MAD BITCH feel free, but NOT at any CQN meet up, as there are plenty of other Pubs available on most days, Im sure… Why not meet MAD BITCH in ” THE LOUDEN” for example on Glasgows Duke Street….or Outer Mongolia ?

I will hope that you understand ?

So wee Gucchi has picked up an injury and reading back maybe Big Jenz has picked up 1 as well.

We should have enough in our squad to give these two guys time to get back, I have never understood how players could play umpteen games then sign for us and all of a sudden they get injured but hey that’s life and we move on, they might not have been 2 starters on Sunday anyway.

  22. A few years ago I never thought I could watch a woman’s game of football.

The two Euro semi’s were very enjoyable.

Slick marketing, hype, promotion, endeavour all add to the product. We know the actual standard especially the physicality will not equal the men’s game, however the improvement is phenomenal.

Ex Celtic man on the panel too. I thought Ian Wright and Alex Scott were formidable.

  23. DIVING and CHEATING…

I have Posted on here about the DIVING and CHEATING ( Especially by the English Number 9, ELLEN WHITE ) during this Euro tourney, and as yet NOT ONE English Commentator/Pundit has called it OUT , as the English Pundits/Commentators have been SO BIASED.

When ELLEN WHITE DIVED to win a Penalty in their 8-0 victory v Norway, the score line was 0-0 at that point. Since then SHE has continued to DIVE and CHEAT, but STILL NO English Commentator/Pundit has spoken out.

In last nights game Germany v France, a French Player DIVED to try and win a penalty, the ENGLISH Commentary team of JONATHAN PIERCE and Ex England Player Lucy Ward…BOTH had something to say about the French Girls DIVE…ESPECIALLY JONATHON PIERCE…….Funny how when its an English Player trying to CHEAT by DIVING…NOTHING is said.

The BBC showed REPLAYS of the French Players Dive, as Mr PIERCE was saying…” We havent seen much of this behaviour during this Euro Tourney, and how it should be STAMPED OUT “…….STILL NO MENTION of Ellen Whites shameful behaviour.

I was being charitable and trying to point him in the right direction to stop him making too much of a fool of himself. I shouldn’t have bothered.

He’s just projecting his own fixed, ignorant views (Scotland victim. Scotland good. England bad. England oppressor) on a complex and nuanced historical process.

It’s a sad indictment on the current state of Scottish politics and the Scottish education system.

And to drag this topic back to where it started the difference between Scotland and Ireland is that Scotland is not an oppressed nation and the Scots are not a people oppressed on account of their nationality.

That doesn’t sit well with the cult, hence their need to indulge in ahistorical fantasy.
