Post-split fixtures

132

With the Premiership top six now confirmed, the league is expected to announce post-split fixtures this week.  As we predicted on 5 March, this should see Falkirk and Hibernian both play 20 home and 18 away games, while Hearts, Newco, Celtic and Motherwell have 19 home and away.

The only solution I see as workable would have Celtic home to Hearts, Newco and Falkirk (for a third time in the league this season and a fourth time overall), and away to Motherwell and Hibs.  Hearts will have Newco and Motherwell at Tynecastle, with away games at Celtic, Hibs and on Falkirk’s plastic.

Newco will have the inverse of Celtic’s fixtures: home to Motherwell and Hibs, away at Celtic, Hearts and Falkirk (also for a third time, including a visit there in five days).Martin O’Neill, Danny Rohl and Derek McInnes will all look at these fixtures and tell their squads they can come out on top.

Trivia: If Celtic are home to Falkirk after the break, that will be six of the last seven meetings between these sides at Celtic Park.

If the GB genuinely think Celtic is more important than them, having them back at 4 out of 6 home games will be a huge advantage , if they can keep the faith, win lose or draw. Not just this Celtic team playing for their place next season.

6 Cup finals 4 at home, every ounce of home advantage should be utilised to get this team over the winners line, lets hope we can all create a noisy passionate home support for the next two league games at what I hope will be fortress parkhead

Wow. Everyone should read this 1983 article by Roald Dahl. Every word of it. It’s literally the same fucking shit as now, with the same kind of impunity, only now it’s even much worse. He called it. He fucking called it and they just ignored him and called him an antisemite.

    Smart tactics.

The announcement was well timed too.

Suggestive of a bit of thinking going on.

Next 7 weeks simply has to be about the team and how we support them …

… particularly when it isn’t going well.

During that period, everything else needs to be left unsaid or at home.

The entry level to all national politics has not been ideal for me in my adult lifetime.

    Accepted.

The bar is certainly lower in Holyrood … and this outfit prove it.

1.3% of the electorate, 1 in 80 voters (yes, you read that right) thought the Greens were the best choice in 2021.

    And they got into power.

As I’ve said on here before, the colour of the rosette worn has become increasingly irrelevant for me.

A track record of competency in E2E delivery of outcomes would suit me fine.

Increasingly though, these types come with a suitcase full of nonsensical dreams.

Nothing new in that on its own .. as Screaming Lord Sutch demonstrated.

Difference is – he had no pathway to power.

    Irony in all of this?

At the upcoming elections, the SNP will carry the can for this disgrace of an administration.

The Greens, who were allowed to influence it heavily, will likely get off scot free.
