ANGE POSTECOGLOU had a sharp response when asked about the transfer situation regarding Josip Juranovic and Giorgos Giakoumakis.
The Croatian World Cup defender and the Greek international striker have been the subject of intense speculation in recent weeks.
Juranovic, who has been linked with a host of clubs including Barcelona, Atletico Madrid and Chelsea, and Giakoumakis, improbably mentioned along with ambitious Danish outfit FC Midtjylland, have both knocked back contract extensions to trigger reports of impending moves from the champions.
However, Postecoglou, preparing for today’s match against Kilmarnock at Parkhead, confirmed there have been NO concrete offers for either player.
ON THE MOVE…Giorgos Giakoumakis hopes to be involved against Kilmarnock today.
The Hoops boss, speaking to The Scotsman, stressed: “At this point, we’ve had nothing serious about any of the players within the group.”
Juranovic, who endured a torrid time when he came on at left-back for the injured Greg Taylor in the 21st minute in the 2-2 draw at Ibrox on Monday, and Giakoumakis, who made his appearance off the substitutes’ bench in the 69th minute, are in the squad for the visit of Derek McInnes’ Ayrshire club.
The champions go into the encounter in the knowledge a win will push them TWELVE points ahead of their nearest challengers with Michael Beale’s club taking on Dundee United at Tannadice with a 4pm kick-off tomorrow.
